you need at least 7:1. also you should only play karkand and be sure to yell at everybody and leave if you dont get a tank.

2.5 is good. there r so many guys who thought bf2 was to be a NON bullet spread and to spray and pray and found out tht no it is not. the average in bf2 is probably 1.14
-i bet u 45% has a k/d ratio of .99 under. i have i dunno, u do tht math lol. look at my sig, down below.
edit: i did the math and have a 1.6388... k/d ratio.

Anything over 1 is good IMO.

2.5 is pretty good, and e-man is probably right on the money. I've got a 1.16 k/d but it's improving every round as I am just now adjusting to the BF2 style of weapons from the CS:S style of weapons.

Well, obviously a good chunk of the people playing will have less than a 1.0 K/D ratio. Sort of the same reason why not every baseball team can have a winning record.

Mine is barely over 1 but rising very quickly, I've logged about 36 hours as Medic and gotten a lot of deaths with that kit.
I'm pretty sure that if you looked at my K/D over the last 50 hours of play you would see the ratio is more like 2/1 though.

I think SPM is much more important than K/D or KPM. This is a team game after all. My Combat Score to Team Score ratio is about 2/1. For most people it's like 5/1, 6/1...so that tells me that most people are more interested in kills than teamwork.

heres my theory of what a good ratio is:

                    kills>deaths

i say as long as you have more kills than deaths you're doing good.

Depends on your style of play. I'd say 2:1 is good for infantry... 5:1 is good for tanks and planes. 3:1 is good for helicopters.

What, Helis own tanks their k/d ratio should be 7+ for a heli and 5 for a tank(like you have). Helis>tanks.

K/D ratio also depends on the competition level you play with and against.
Also the average k/d ratio is under 1.00, nobody gets credit for a tk, but you always die when you get tked.

You know I totally disregard K/D ratio in BF2 to be honest. I mean, you take a guy like me that when he is on the ground, always plays support (with the PKM). Now, I can hold a 1-1:KD ratio with the PKM, as it says on my stats, but that's no easy task I can assure you. It's a lot easier to get killed an shot when you have to go prone and be in 1 spot to be accurate with the support guns. Then you take everyone else on karkand using the assault grenade launchers and jumping all over the place, hell you better have at least 2-1KD if you are one of those people. Or even medic, they can jump around like crazy and still get kills and rarely get killed.

So, it's all depending what class you play normally.

You know what I've been doing the past few days? I've been strictly playing 64-man Gulf of Oman ranked servers, getting in the MEC Bomber, and just whoring that thing. I'm always ending up 1st place with over 50 kills (100+ points), and NO DEATHS, sometimes 1 death if there's a lag. If you know how to keep that thing in the air and fly high on gulf of oman, you will have a consistent 50-0 KD Ratio.

So, like I said, it all depends what you play. Expect someone like support or sniper to have a sucky ratio compared to an assault/medic.

I got a 1.3 k/d ratio. Its getting better all the time.

It depends on your class, and vehicle usage, and offcourse the amount of active braincells
