Been using WSAD since the early days of CS 1.0 and the old Doom.

I guess I am still 'old style'

My contols are deafault, apart from i swapped jump prone and crouch around, so jump is Ctrl, prone is space, and crouch is z, as z is the hardest to use and i wouldnt use crouch.

I may change the button to open the console window as i allways accidently open it when trying to take out my knife, and when there is a possible knife kill you need all the time you can get.

I use WASD and wouldn't want anything else, best thing ever.

Now your hands are spread over the keyboard and you can reach every button in a split second.

For the rest, I use caps lock for crouch, goes very good, use this in counter strike to.

Actualy sorry for saying but using the arow keys is for noobs

          I switch WASD to UHJK.

Considering they let you assign the windows key for in game control, this gives me three keys (space, right alt, right win) that are easy to hit with my thumb. I assign them to jump, crotch, sprint respectively.

I don't know why anyone would feel sorry for me for doing so, it is exactly like WASD, but I have three keys under my thumb as opposed to 1. On top of that, you are slightly more centralized on the keyboard, so jumping to any other keys on the board isn't as difficult.

However, it was a ***** to set up because the control setup menu was designed by an assclown.

            lol.

            crotch = crouch

I had it set to crotch, but then it became very painful to play BF2. . .

Do ppl still use arrows to play FPSs. Last time i used those were in the quake2 days with wsad= jump, crouch, strafe left, strafe right + arrows= forward, backward, left, right + pgup, pgdown, end=look up, look down, centre view . My hands were incredibly fast back then

Arrows keys here. I have jump and crouch bound to ctrl and left shift (respectively), and the weapons keys bound to 4-9 on the numpad. Been playing this way since Quake 2, and I'll be damned if I ever switch to WASD.

As a typist, you want your index finger on the F key. Easy to find with that knob on it. So, I'm set up one key to the right, ESDF. This gives more keys for my pinkey.

I've been a gamer since Wolfenstein 3D, and I still use the arrow keys. WSAD keys are way to close together to keep straight for me, it's awkward and unatural. I'll use arrow keys until I die like that Korean gaming freak did.

Arrows - strafe left / right, forward / back
                          Numberpad 0 - reload
Numberpad 1 - switches fire modes
Numberpad 4 - pistol quick switch (came in handy more times than I can count)
                          Pagedown - prone
                          Right CTRL - duck
                          Shift - enter vehichle
                          Left click - fire
                          Right click - jump
                          Mouse 3 - sprint
                          Mouse 4 - aim / secondary

I could see someone using the arrow keys if they're left-handed, or maybe a custom setup. WASD is great for most players, but then again, most are right-handed.

As for me, I use WASD. :)

Why? Because they can't be individuals? Be original? Do what feels comfortable for them? Give me a break. WASD sucks. I use EDSF instead. gives me more keys to press with my fingers. Besides, the 'F' key has a ridge on it, giving me an exact reference of where my fingers should be if I should move them away from my directional keys (EDSF).

                                For truth.

WASD is for punks. EDSF is where it's at.
