By using the arrow keys and 0 for kneeling and . for prone and like I said before I don't jump much. Nobody jumps much...Originally posted by way21337Amen. I think it's dumb to use arrow keys. There are no really good buttons surrounding it. I use all defaults...even for unreal tournament I use WASD
And along with left click for fire, right for...what the hell is right click for?! Oh yeah zoom duh lol and the scroll wheel up and down for choosing weapons fast even if that did get me killed before.
Because you know how you use a whole clip and you have to reload and you know you don't have time so you use your sidearm well with the wheel its sometimes hard to choose something fast.
Who knew this topic of mine could grow so much..makes me want to cry.Comment

That's true actually. I've seen some wierd set ups when I used to play CAL-M. In CAL, reation time rules all and if you're not absolutly in-tune with the way you play, you're going down.Originally posted by DOGMANAlthough all the people i know who use strange customised controls are leet at CS.
I just hate how the w in wsad is off center. My finger tends to want to go in the crease between w and e.Comment

I use a modified WASD. I use the WASD config, but I've changed the weapons buttons to put my pistol as my middle mouse button (scroll wheel click), moved knife to 2 and put parachute as 1, so I don't have to move my left hand all the way across my keyboard to reach 9. I also moved the VOIP button to F so it is right where I can get to it. I don't need a "scroll through weapons" button, that is what the mousewheel does.Comment

I use the arrow keys for movement. Shift=jump; Ctrl=crouch. I try not to pick up stray kits so it's not really an issue for which button it's set to (Q or G, I think), nor do I parachute very often (9 by default).
My five button trackball takes care of the rest. Outer left button=alt fire; first button=primary fire; scroll wheel up/down to cycle through weapons; scroll wheel click to enter/exit; second button=jump; outer right button=reload.
Also, Lieutenant Jones is damn wrong. I jump. Often. Every FPS game it gets set to the second mouse button. You don't move a lot, you tend to get shot often. Also, in the cases where you do need to get over something the last thing you need is to be fumbling around for the correct button.Comment

Nostromo Speed Pad OWNS all!

Here's a unique moveset: HUYT. Played with my keyboard upside-down. It was fun, but then I got a new keyboard with a frame that got in the way of that.
I'm sticking to ESDF, Tribes 2 default. The extra five keys in my index and small fingers' range allow me all the commands I require. I'm also interested in a Nostromo SpeedPad: the aligned keys would allow me to relax my fingers and the unique buttons would surely put my console gaming thumb to better use than just the spacebar for jumping.
I see how well arrow keys and the Numpad would work for many, as the keys are aligned and it would be fitting for those who use a mouse with their left hand. Some keyboards had buttons really close to the arrow keys, allowing for more than enough binds.Comment
