Why do people care if someone else "stat pads"?

It's not their stats that piss me off, it's the fact that a squad on my team is effectively left out of battle do to "stat-padding". Suddenly an even 10vs10 game becomes a very unbalanced 10vs6 fight, because 4 ****ers on my team are acting like idiots in the middle of nowhere, doing NOTHING to help their team win.

Yeah that is the exact reason I hate stat padders, they do nothing to benifit the game.

BTW, some people are saying that using the blackhawk to increse their game points is stat padding. They are playing the game and taking flags. Its up to the other team to shoot them down.

Isn't a tk -2 team points and a revive is 1 team point? Seems like a bad plan. Add into that the fact that I punish them for it.

I didn't know that. I think a revive should be more than 1 point if that's true. I've used the medic a few times and I always get killed trying to run over and revive my team mate. If he was just killed, chances are the guy (or gal) is still around! heheh

I for one dont give a **** if people have score. I used to do that but innocently as i am that type of person to help those out, Even in unranked servers. The only reason i want points is to get more guns. Thats all.

And with team kills, its not normally the point minus, its the fact that someone was so pissed with you they wanted to punish you, when you know you did nothing wrong and was an accident, if not, not your fault entirely. I would actually encourage people to punish me, like i did once accidently shotguned my own guy walking out a door, as i was looking for an enemy in that area, and i said sorry and he didnt punish me. And i would completely understand if he did. Its just that its annoying when people feel the need to punish when its so obvious you didnt do anything.

I only punish if they shot me on purpose or team kill me alot without apollogising.

There should be at least a 5 second wait till you can punish because people often punish you so fast you dont even have a chance to say sorry. And when people TK me and i dont know what happen, i leave it and wait untill i hear a sorry then i press page up.

Well, they might have a good arguement there. I say that transport helis are for transporting, no? And they put guns on it too...good ones at that. It was built into the game unfortunately. I think EA should change this to not allow you to take a flag with a heli. You can whore in the sense of flying over, dropping off guys and let them take the flag. You pick them up and do it again. That's fair, no? Plus please take the fix in air thing out. Land, and fix the heli. You cant fix holes and damage while flying around. It's silly. Maybe the medic can heal someone i nthe cabin, but you just cant hop out on to the tail and repair it. heheh

Guys you all make good points here and I understand why some people get aggravated with stat padders, but sometimes it just seems like some people get too worked up about it and only focus on the negatives, like people who stat pad, rather than the positive, like blowing up at tank with c4 or taking out an entire squad by your lone self. You just gotta step back and look at the big picture, and just have fun with the game.

But yes, I do understand why some people get angry at stat-padders. They're cheaters who care way too much about getting points rather than just having fun with the damn game.

The point should be secondary, but for some people, its all about points...
Remember... The people playing this game are about 75% "my penis is bigger then yours" teenagers...
So because of this you will have lots of people that require a win, to be happy... Otherwise this game is useless to them...
So i agree with you, but remember that not everyone is the same... Some people think of points only... and someone stat padding is bringing there scores down in a way...

Sorry, but when a few guys in choppers can get 244 points a round by getting on a 15/64 player server and just ride around and cap flags all round, something is screwed up. I almost NEVER fly, becuase I want to earn my points on the ground. The one time I did fly, on a Mec chopper as gunner, I owned. So I understand both sides, but I got my points even in the chopper from KILLING PEOPLE.

244 points in a round is just bizarre....and the top 5 guys on each side all had over 220....and guess what? They were all FLYING/ONBOARD CHOPPERS.

LOL, when im Commander and I see a few dots far off in the distance and not in battle I watch them, see what they are doing and drop arties on them untill they stop or leave the server. Nothing more frustrating then trying your best to support 16 or 32 guys with commands and drops to have a few morons padding.

I for one like to play the game at its fullest realism that I can get. Sneeking for kills, nadeing a few non expecting enemies, hiding on rooftops etc. I currently have a slightly higher kill to death ratio. I first started I was about .60 now im 1.14. I worked my arse off to get it up to that and dam proud of it.Why should others stand in a corner with a 10 - 1 ratio being morons. Not cool. Plus like so many others said, Im getting my arse handed to me in fights cause some of my "team" is off jerking around and not helping, that not very fun for me. I love teamwork, thats the name of the game.

However, along with the rest of the people here, I agree. Using a Blackhawk to capture flags is not stat padding. If someone has a problem with the points people get using a Blackhawk, then they need to devise ways to shoot it down or discourage it from taking flags.
