Why do people care if someone else "stat pads"?

something you can relate to reading all your posts ? we all know its a sore subject but at least the thread starter felt he was able to discuss it and not get flamed. We all have opinions on the issue so lets discuss it. Id rather discuss something interesting like this rather than people who post threads on how their grandmother whores capping flags with the blackhawk

Man, on mastuur city just spawn as specops, drop 4 c4 on the flagpole (with jumping) and wait for the BH. BOOM. 6 kills and 18 points. (each kill counts as flag defense, and worth 3 points) I usually get gold star against BH whoring teams. 3rd time they won't come to that base, that's for sure. :evil:

Now working for veteran explosives.. :) I'm at 250 kill, 50%.

I dont care about stat padders, because I don't give a crap about ranks or stats of any kind.

I play mostly AT, so sometimes it takes a while to get the same points as a supply guy or medic. But I'm not gonna worry about it. I'm just happy to have health everywhere, and ammo when I need it.

Because stat padding isn't fair to those who actually have to play hard and earn higher ranks.

It's the same thing as jumping lines - it pisses people off.

I guess the key is to have confidence in yourself and your skills in-game. If you do, you don't need some arbitrary stat system to tell you that.

Doesn't the pilot get loads of points for teamwork too? I know a friend of mine did just what you said and just by being a pilot he got 2nd on the server, and top teamwork (don't know if this is extra points or what). This and choppers are bloody hard to fly well so a good pilot is worth his weight in gold, and most others with good sense will let him have the hawk while they support him in some way? I do anyway :) I can fly a chopper but not very well so If I can I'll grab one and land it near a good pilot, then switch to gunner seat so he can fly. (not that I can aim worth a damn either... anyway GET YOU AMMO HERE!!)

Also some peeps are saying people are getting high points with no kills, but everyone gets points for supplying/reviving and so on right? I often play as support and get like top ten ranking with low kills, but thats just because I spend a lot of time re-arming my team-mates and I'm crap at aiming :)

I do see the problem tho and even tho my aiming sucks, as I re-arm I will watch the squad's 6 and I can drive pretty well. Why buy a game if you're not going to play it? Sitting at the edge of a map's a bit pointless methinks...

I don't really care about them that much. The only time I care is when you get that one basterd thats a medic and he shoots you so he can give a med pack or kills you so he can revive you. I was on a server once where I got shot by a medic and he gave me a pack. I figured ok he messed up all is well. Then he shoots me again and gives me another. Once again I let it slide. He did it a third time and I got annoyed. So when he shot me the fourth time I threw down a claymore. :dead: He didn't punish me and left me alone after that. For the medics that tk for a revive point, well they're just retarded. Isn't a tk -2 team points and a revive is 1 team point? Seems like a bad plan. Add into that the fact that I punish them for it.

That would explain your rank. Obviously not obtained by any real skill. Only the exploited skill. Good thing you have 2 accounts so that you can hide from those who win by real skill.

So you run around in a map with your stats and rank, with everyone thinking you're actually a really good player, and you have skills. But in reality, you're no better than a cheater, right? Cheating the ranking to get something you didn't earn the way it was ment to be earned? So this makes you proud somehow?

I guess you'll never know the real pleasure of earning what you make. Winning becuase you're better than the rest. Your skills on an even playing field are higher than others. I guess that's kind of dumb to you, eh?

Isn't the commander choosen from applicants based on their rank?

I'd rather have a decent Corpral or Lance Corpral as commander than some 12 yr old who has spent 8 hours constantly kniving and reviving his friend in order to be a Sgt..

Being in a helicopter is not stat padding, we're talking here about people who head over to a deserted corner of the map with some equally masochistic stat obsessed pre-pubescent children in order to repeat knife/revive/repair/supply etc etc.
