Parachute not opening

also there must be enough space for an open chute. If you falling to close on a wall it wont work.

i tried that on Gulf of Oman, jumping from the highest point on the crane, and splat!, right in front of my commander, now how wierd is that? and he happened to be a medic. hmmm...
and i did that from a plane, a helio, all from high points and splat!
any more pounding on the keyboard and my parachute button will fly off.

you only need to press it once for it to open b/c you only need to rip the cord once in a real parachute. when i go skydiving, i DON'T need to yank the string a zillion times for it to open; so what feature is this?

i have that special BF2 keyboard. you know, the one with all the preset keys there. maybe i should just get a regular wireless one or maybe i should just by another special one :laugh:

I have a habit of waiting to the very last moment before deploying my chute. I used to do this in BF1942 clan matches so that the enemy wouldn't see me until I stood right before them. On Kubra Dam I usually jump off the cliff by the power house (next to the dam) to get down to the middle flag. I sprint off the cliff to get some distance to the mountain side. Imagine my face as I saw the concrete getting closer and closer and then right before I hit I deployed the chute and nothing....... *splat*

After a few such incidents I have started to distrust the BF2 parachute.

the chute needs time to catch the wind. deploying it at the last minute won't help :)

Secret to parachute opening is to look for your gun to disappear off of your screen. No matter how many times you button mash, the parachute will not open until the gun disappears from your visual.

come on this is one of those laws of battlefield. The more you hit your parachute key the less likely it is to come out.

I do it successfully most of the time. On Kubra Dam you have to wait so it doesn't snag on something. If it does you are history..
