Get the G3. Just remember not to waste your bullets. And also reload ALOT. Those little buggers go out of the tube mighty fast.

And if you want a good machine gun just play USMC, damn that SAW flipping owns.

the G3 is pure crap sure it does good damage but in most sitituations your within 20-40 feet from the guy u empty out 20 rounds and miss your screwed

the SAW is also crap its the weakest gun only good thing is you can kill guys real far with it without them noticeing

i would take a russian gun over a american gun any day most american firearms are **** now the only good ones are side arms and pre vietnam era guns such as the garand and tompson.

but your saying the SAW shoots more rounds a min but sometimes quantity is not as good as QUALITY

for instance russian guns have better quality therefore they are more reliable and have lasted for decades ever since WWII.

Yeah, the SAW is great at close to mid ranges (more to the close side though), it sprays out so many rounds, you can kill so many troops using it. But at mid-longer ranges, it would be lucky that you hit a thing, i use the Saw when somebody is taking our flag, i just kill them alll and get a couple of flag defense points. But other times, i just go hunting snipers with Spec Ops, or vice versa, i go hunting spec ops with sniper.

I said that just because I wasn't even comparing it to PKM. And I'm not comparing the weapons to real life, hell ya I would pick Kalashnikov over M4 or M16 any day.

I agree with the reliable part, but not the quality. Russian guns are famous for reliability (you almost never have to clean your ak47), terrorists buy htem becuase they are cheap, and reliable. They may not be very accurate, but who cares about accuracy if your damn gun jams. That's the problem with the US guns, they had some kind of wierd sticky gunpowder during Vietnam, before the troops ate, they cleaned their guns, they had to clean their guns so much. They put plastic bags over the muzzle of the gun to try to keep it clean. But when it did fire, there was much less recoil than the AK in vietnam, and it was much lighter and it was a lot more accurate. So each side has their thinking, the russians make more reliable, durable weapons, while the us makes more accurate, lighter weapons. It all comees down the personal preference. But, at close range, the SAW owns anything but a point blank shotty, but the problem is getting to close range, that's why the PKM is a worthy upgrade to some, it has the power of a SVD, or chinese sniper rifle, and it has 100 rounds and is rapid fire, although it's inaccurate, fire in bursts, it owns.

I think the G3 is just fine. I've gotten the top spot several times just using assault and the G3, but when it comes to my top pick it's the G36C. You can take out guys from all ranges and its very accurate, especially when your just tapping the single shot.

it was a decision for me to go with the DAO-12 or the PKM for sergeant. i will get the DAO because its a MAJOR, let me say it again, MAJOR upgrade to the mp5, etc

i tried the PKM plenty of times and i dont think i ever got a kill with it. the iron sight blocks like 1/3 of your actual iron sight (dont know how to explain it better)

A RS M16 is accurate. No doubt. But it's pure crap. Reliability is good, so as long as you clean the damned thing between each firing. Russians have always had their minds on:
A - Suppressive fire.
B - Quantity.

Their general idea was to have a minimum training for grunts concerning their weapon's maintenence. Also, regarding suppressive fire, they're not really worried about accuracy. They're worried about having their targets having their heads up and firing back. The AK-74 is armed by origin with a compensator on the muzzle just for that purpose (the 74, not the AKM, that's an angled compensator).

Funnily enough, German weapons do fit the gap between Russian and American weapons, by presenting themselves as reliable, quality and accurate weapons (take the G3 as a proven example).

About the support weapons -- The M249 does 25 damage and has an RoF of 900. The PKM has an RoF of 450 and does 45 damage. Do the maths and you'll see that technically, it would be a loss, but it isn't. Why? Because the PKM is damn accurate for a support weapon.

If you're torn between the G3 and the PKM, go for the PKM.

The G3 is sheer crap over longer ranges (the PKM is a support weapon, but it's still fairly accurate for its class), it's innacurate as hell even on semi, the recoil is all over the place (having bad accuracy wasn't bad enough), you lose your nade launcher (I unlocked it because I don't use the 203 but I didn't think it'd be this crappy), lose ten rounds per magazine and do 3 more damage compared to the AK-101.

PKM is great:

First guy doesn't even know I'm there, I'm 10 feet behind him, I stay prone, and I see two more guys round the corner following him...

Thwap thwap thwap! In one shot, one of them goes down, and I just move my crosshairs over to the other two without removing my finger from the left mouse button...and the other two drop in 1.5 seconds.

That's how you use the support. People who complain that they can't hit crap with it are not using it properly.

My kill ratio on the ground is 3 to 1 or 4 to 1 with the support kit now that I've had more practice.

When you see an enemy and he doesn't see you...just WAIT...let him get closer, all he's doing is giving you a better shot for your "2" bullets to kill him.

I recommend the PKM, but it's truly up to you man...you may find that you kill quicker with say...the G36, than with the support gun. By all means listen to the suggestions but ultimately you will make the decision :)
