It can also be argued that any teamplayer would get out when asked because he will waste time when forcing the other guy to wait. What makes your argument more right?Originally posted by indigo_primeBy refusing to move until your 'buddies' have slots is wasting time on a map and posibly causing you to lose tickets. Any good teamplayer would cart off a full vehicle of their side towards whatever objective and get on with the job. Squad members can always choose to respawn on you if youre the team leader.
They should base it on skill in that individual vehicle class instead, but that would leave the problem of calculating skill out of stats. That and/or introduce a pilot kit which should discourage 50% of the casual "pilots"Originally posted by [LoD]JudasYou should get dibs on vehicles based on rank or badgeComment

A pilot kit would be a great idea. The skill thing would work too just to keep newb pilots from taking the choppers and planes. I have nothing against the next guy taking a vehicle as long as he can use it effectively, but it sucks ass when you know someone is wasting it when you could be putting it to better use. F'in noobs can practice in single player if they want to work on vehicle skills.Comment

If that would happen I'd go around with my AT kit and just destroy it to make another spawn, if you are not in your vehicle then it could be usefull to your side if someone else was in it.
I think you come from Planetside where vehicles are owned and can be locked but this is a different matter when there is a minimum time you can go and get another time (5 mins on most vehicles) and you have to Certificate your self for vehicles to actually be able to drive them. It works great in PS because the battlefields range accross massive conts and planets not just one battle field where vehicles 'spawn'.Comment

Here hereOriginally posted by KadornI don't like the idea in general, I think more of a problem is when engineers get out a tank or something like it and try to repair it, then a teammate takes it, another problem with engineer, you can fix your vehicle, but you will lose it in the process. I think having a 15 second lock optional lock when engineer jumps out would help this. However lokcs for eveyone would not work.Comment

So what, the "no lifers" can get all the vehicles and the people who actuially work for a living and don't spend every waking hour with their sad little faces pressed to the glass have to make do with their legs?Originally posted by [LoD]JudasYou should get dibs on vehicles based on rank or badge
We all pay the same money to play the same game, don't turn this into more of a "nerd fest" than it has to be.Comment

Do you work for EA/DICE?Originally posted by StregaI'd like to see Vehicle Ownership in BF2. So if you get in a chopper, or whatever vehicle, you can 'lock' it for your squad, or boot someone that's in it, that you don't want in it. Lots of times I like to roll up on a base quietly, and some idiot gets in my vehicle and is just laying waste to EVERYTHING in sight with the gun. However, if you get OUT of the driverseat, you should lose ownership of that vehicle.
Just my $0.02

Why? He payed the same as you he has the right to the vehicle just as yourself, think of it as natural selection ... if he can't fly well he will die sooner rather than later and you have a shorter time camping that airfield for your l33t Jet :)
Now locking a vehicle to squad only is a faily good idea, but still could be abused more. I think it's fine as it is at present.Comment
