Outrageous, banned from BF2 HELP

Yes, however gamespy DOESN'T own BF2. All they do is manage the logins from BF2. If I was to act up on their forum, they have ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT WHAT-SO-EVER to ban me from a game I PAID for. You want to ban me from the forums, fine. You cannot ban me from the game.

That's like saying you go into Wal-Mart and make purchases. The week later, you get banned from wal-mart for a year. You still have every right in the world to wear those clothes you bought.

They need to figure out a new way to ban players. It cannot be from IP, nor username. They need, or should I say MUST devleop a system where there are certain variables for the ban. Such as username, or IP is banned from PBF2.com, but is able to play BF2. It actually shouldn't be all that hard. This means any moderator on PBF2 can ban a user, for no apparent reason, or for "fun". Now because of this they can't play BF2. No way in hell is that right, and I'm sure in our country, there is a certain clause or written statemnt that would make that illegal.

Dr.X - You need to calm down. Sure, he was wrong with what he said, but your facts are wrong also. Just because you have cable doesn't mean with a reset of your modem you get a new IP address. If you know ANYTHING about networking, you'll learn that there are staic IPs and Dynamic IPs. At one point, with RoadRunner, my IP was dynamic, and would change with a reboot of the modem. However, now, all roadrunner IPs are static (at least in my area). There is no way to change them with resetting the modem. The only way that it's possible is either to call them, or it might work is you release and renew your DHCP. Those are the only ways to get around a static IP.

EXACTLY, there is no way in blue hell you can be banned from playing a game you purchased.

If this is accurate, that's a serious issue and could have legal (or should I say illegal..) ramifications.

An IP address is tied to your computer, not to your game. Getting your IP address banned if you're not on Dial-up means you're pretty much screwed, unless you want to play through a proxy.

strange because you can't block someone in BF2 using an IP adres, they would need your bf2 acount . or you said them your acount or left it behind on the forum somewhere or your beeing banned for something else.

an IP adres is not the holy grail or something it most of the time changes when you log in or put your pc on, only the last numbers stay because that are the numbers of you provider, the rest changes like hel

Indeed, someone being able to deny you access to play BF2 for a PBF2 forum issue be it real or imagined is not something EA would have done intentionaly. My god just look at the live chat in GSA at times. No way you could have done worse that what goes on in there befor an admin or someone can put an end to it. EA nor Dice would have left such things upto random people who moderate a forum. If that were the case people would have boycot thier games.

It may be that because GS does handle some aspects of Bf2 browsing and that you are perhaps using your GS login info as your BF2 login info that when GS denys it, BF2 can't authenticate it either.

Try making a new account with a new e-mail. See if that works. If somehow BF2 also has banned your IP from the accounts servers by way of what GS has done then the community HAS TO KNOW. That has got to be a glitch.
