    Outrageous, banned from BF2 HELP

Yesterday I was in a horrible mood and was very bored so regretfully I made an idiotic post on the planetbattlefield forums containing some profanity in my attempt to get a good laugh. Shortly after, my IP address was banned from the planetbattlefield forums and to my suprise I was also banned from Battlefield2. (I never knew it was an official forum)

The board rules state that you get a warning before even getting a 24 hour ban, and I have been banned for longer than 24 hours. I have never been warned on the forum and I have never broken any rules other than this one time. Honestly the thought never crossed my mind that something as foolish as this would get me banned. Although it shocks me that I am banned from the forum, I am outraged that I am banned from Battlefield2 for making a post on a forum. If I would have known my actions on the planetbattlefield forums could constitute a ban from a game that I payed good money for, I would have never even thought of making that kind of post.

When I got banned I recieved no message at all, it just says "IP banned" and I can't connect to the battlefield2 account server. I havn't been able to play for more than 24 hours now

An IP address is tied to your computer, not to your game. Getting your IP address banned if you're not on Dial-up means you're pretty much screwed, unless you want to play through a proxy.

Actually, EA needs to fix this ASAP. It seems gamespy handles the bans when PBF2 bans a user, as they use gamespy logins to post. Therefore if his gamespy account was banned from the PBF2 forums, or from gamespy period, he is now infact banned from BF2. As far as I know PBF2 is a FAN site, and not an OFFICIAL BF2 forum. If this is the case, it would technically be illegal for them to do what they're doing, and actually EA/gamespy/Dice is liable.

If PBF2 is not an official site, and if in the EULA it doesn't say that getting banned on the PBF2 forums, you are banned from BF2, they need to unban you IMMEDIATELY.

I think you need to e-mail both DICE/EA and the PBF2 moderators, respecctfully state the situation, and see what they say.

PBF2 is a gamespy owned site, so I wouldn't exactly consider it a fan site, considering GS ties with Dice/EA.
