If ive said it once ive said it a thousand times....

Theres no deviation or recoil. The bullet goes exactly where you point it...any deviation is neglegable if at all.

If you aim for someones head and miss...its because you missed ... maybe by a meter maybe by a millimetre...but you missed all the same.

The sniper is one of the harder classes to master. I like the challange and the M95 is a rail gun in the right hands...but...

I honestly think Dice/EA need to rethink the sniper at times though, cause why would a assault class be more accurate than a sniper, assuming both are in a prone position and are directly aiming at each other without movement? Add the fact that even if the sniper hits the head, for practicallity reasons a assault class is doing a better job at times?

Maybe i'm too harsh with the sniper class...but I think even casual snipers would like to wonder why some hits are just not hitting and the odd ones are...

Im totally happy with all the snipers, they are all good for instant prone - aim - headshot, which is my sniper tactic, "assault sniping"

I think lag hits snipers a LOT more than other classes. If your shot is that much farther away, lag has longer to affect it. I have made maybe 4 pilot kills (I unlocked the gun a few virtual/game time hours ago) and have played maybe 4 rounds with it. On 1 map, I took maybe 4 shots at a hovering pilot and missed every shot. I was prone, far, but not too far and missed every stinking shot. The server was SOMEWHAT laggy. the server where I got the sniper shots to the pilots were with pings of less than 100. the laggy one was about 250.

I have to agree; and coming from a guy who always plays the sniper class, always gets insane headshots, and popped headshots in Unreal, unzoomed after jumping off of a tower frequently enough that there is an accuracy issue, or at least a lag vs. accuracy issue. I was in a shooting match at about 400 feet with a non sniper and he was doing MUCH better shot for shot than me with my M95. I didn't rush my shots, the server was rather lag free, but it took 3 shots to kill him (I believe I got the headshot on 3) but he had hit me 3-4 times....his head was pretty much my whole center target. He was prone, I was prone, facing each other. I didn't move and shoot, I stayed steady the whole time. There's NO way I missed, but I did. I just hope 1.03 addresses something. I do have to agree that the m95 should do 1 shot 1 kill. the bullets are like 5 inches long. if not 1 shot 1 kill, at least have them ignore armor. i doubt a bullet that ignores bullet proof armored glass cares about your kevlar vest.

You use an M95 to shoot a truck at 1200 yards. You use an M24 to shoot a person inside 800. It depends on the situation. The M95 is an accurate weapon, it is by far not the most accurate sniper rifle in use. Yes, you can use an M95 to kill someone, that doesnt mean its the best tool for the job.
You're kidding me right? YOu can engage "Soft-Targets" at a mile with the M95, and the M24 is not more accurate than the weapon... there just isn't any Match ammo available in .50BMG... which hurts the weapons performance. (But, it isn't really noticeable in contrast to the M24, I mean, heck, we have men in Iraq dusting off "Soft-Targets" at 1600-2000m with De-Linked .50BMG)

Plus, with the M95 you truely don't have to connect with your target, if you get the round close enough to their body, it's likely going to inflict lethal damage anyways.

But, yeah.. both the M24 and M95 are capable of sub-MOA accuracy, and the M95 is capable of this at "Starting" ranges of 1200m (That's in the hands of your run-of-the-mill everyday joe, with limited weapons training)

Meaning you can MISS and still kill him? Is this due to shockwaves, etc? Being from NJ, I hate guns, but the physics is still intriguing. Oddly enough, I love gun games! To me, shooting a pixel is harmless and challenges your mind. Shooting a real thing....well....that's a debate best left off the board!

My friends here still are surprised when someone posts about the RL version of a gun because THEY OWN 5 of them!!! What can you say? Kansas is not NJ is not Texas is not NYC.

I took it and SEMI-regret it. I still think sniper accuracy is bugged and when addressed, the M95 will truly shine. I've had amazing results and craptacular results. Same player, same rifle, different server (lag vs no lag) so I REALLY think that the way the bullet's accuracy is calculated suffers from lag MORESO on a sniper. Once addressed, the M95 will be a boon to your arsenal.

I also love your quote. Not being anti-US or pro-russia, but their space program was GREAT at showing what you can do with no budget!

He means irl a 0.50cal bullet can supposedly miss and still harm the target from shock, which is bs, a miss from a 0.50cal is a just like a miss from everything.

I tend to agree with the deviation being off on the sniper rifle, there are several classes with less deviation, which is kind of silly...especially considering that a sniper has no other abilities and has to strictly rely on kills for points (ie, no supplies, medic, repair, etc). Was laying down last night at about 250m, didn't move at all and took deliberate well aimed shots and targets that were basically still...had the crosshairs dead over the persons head only to watch the bullet hit around their knees, 1.5ft to the right, next shot with crosshairs on head person hasn't moved, a little above the head to the left, next shot, around the chest, to the right, next shot finally hit them in the neck/head area and got the kill...

Same thing happened over and over. It seems to vary though (maybe the previous poster was right about lag), I have had times where the sniper was dead on and I could really rack up on kills, but other times like last night where it seemed the deviation was ridiculous (lag was bad enough that sometimes I would go out of scoped mode without pressing anything)...

Just out of curiosity, how high/low is everyone's accuracy?

My sniper rifle accuracy is generally about 34-36% and overall is about 20%. Higher than my friends by a good margin.

I agree that the sniper rifles arent accurate enough. Sometimes the shots are completely wild even when prone. And it should be possible to hit people consistently at ranges over 250-300m, which it isnt at the moment.

I can't really see the point of snipers atm when you can lie on a roof somewhere with a G36C and pick ppl off with 2 - 3 shots and be really accurate. With snipers you can take your bloody time aiming and fire carefully in the head or chest of a guy and still miss. Then you have to reload. When I fire a G36 single shot nearly every bullet hits the target.

I find the M95 very acurate, make a lot af headshots with it, the only thing about the snipers is that you have one shot to make it, or sometimes two, but the netcode is a big problem here because it sucks, this is the reason why you can aim perfectly but miss like hel, just because the netcode isn't so good, it has no advanced features like prediction as in Counter strike.

The miss of the feature makes also the "you have a problem with your connection" or something like that, then you are dead for shure when rivein or flying, actualy the netcode is like written by morons or children
