I dont know how this is programmed but I dont have a problem killing people with the sniper rifle (although the M95 is a waste of a kit as far as im concerned since the M24 does the same damage but just doesnt have any glass penetration). Maybe adjust the M95 to have a bigger zoom or something.
No the scopes are the same and oddly enough the 7.62mm M24 does as much damage as the M95 with 2 hit kills.

Too bad Dice couldn't dop any research or hire a decent military advisor
The M95 is more accurate then an M24 outside of 800 yards. Inside of 800, the M24 is more accurate. The M95 is used to shoot large targets a majority of the time, not people. You use an M95 to shoot a truck at 1200 yards. You use an M24 to shoot a person inside 800. It depends on the situation. The M95 is an accurate weapon, it is by far not the most accurate sniper rifle in use. Yes, you can use an M95 to kill someone, that doesnt mean its the best tool for the job.

If its a glitch then why are the majority of my kills from 1-shot headshots????? I had a bloke say to me the other day "WTF you cant be that accurate with a sniper rifle!!!!!" And later on, same server different map, it was "Player, you're lucky that sniper gets headshots, the mongrel"

So, if its a game-wide glitch, im yet to encounter it!

An M95 .50 BMG sniper rifle is used to take out vehicles and other technical equipment from 2000 meters and more. The M95 is very accurate, not as accurate as an M24 SWS, but considering the range it's capable of shooting at, it seems more accurate.
I also think the damage should be increased for it, I saw a video of a sniper team shooting iraqi terrorists with a .50 caliber rifle(they just said a .50 caliber rifle). Shown through the spotter's view. Each shot blew a limb of, one blew a guy in half, and if you were to get shot in the chest with an M95, it would blow your back out. The 7.62x51mm M24 SWS is considered to be one of the most accurate bolt rifles available and is capable of shooting at ranges of about 800 meters. It to should have its damage increased, one shot to the chest would be fatal 99% of the time reguardless of armor, because as the bullet passes through you it causes shock waves, those shock waves tear and blow up organs. Like your lungs, heart, or arteries and possibly your trachea. That right there isn't instant death, but out in the field you would die due to lack of supplies. After it does that it keeps going and if it closely passes your spinal colunm, either the bullet hits it or the shockwaves do your paralized from there down
99% of the time. But that 1% chance you do survive the bullet somehow passes through doing no real damage, or the bullet hits bone and causes secondary missiles but they miss vital areas, but otherwise they peirce organs and go all over the place.
            Nasty stuff.
Also I think that the visibility should be increased, true sniping starts at 800 meters, and weapon max effective range should be modified so assault rifles are only truley accurate up to about 600-700 meters, but of course they'll try and lob their rounds at you. One thing i don't get though about FPS games, Rainbow Six 3 is a good example, is when you walk your gun just sways in your hands, but when you fire, instead of your bullets going straight out the barrel, the bullet comes out of the barrel and it all of a sudden makes a 45 degree angle change in direction which is physically impossible(unless set up to with some weird thing the causes the bullet to ricochet as soon as it comes out of the barrel, but it's not, its just programmed to for the game).
But it's just a game, and i still love playing them, and I agree the scopes should have variable power settings. :)

Can we see that video? I think your talking bs, the video you saw is probably video from afghanistan where US soldiers are shooting up some afghan animals that look like rabbits. They sure looked like theyr having fun.
But i do agree that .50 cal sniper would rip soldier apart if hit.

FYI that video is fake. Its from some gun shop owner in Arizona (I believe, can't remember now) shooting dead animal bodies. With that being said yes a 50 cal to the body would rip you in half body armor or no body armor. I wish they would make it like the sniper rifles in joint ops before novalogic screwed over the snipers. You could zoom in and adjust what range your scope was zeroed in at. There was nothing like sitting on a hill and dropping a round on some guys head 900 meters away.

took my a while to master sniping with the M95, now im a pro with it. M24 was easy. but believe me when i say aiming at the head is a waste of ammo, unless your close enough to give the guy a kick in the face. i noscoped a guy who was trying to knife me, but ONLY because he was close enough to reach out and shake my hand

I don't see a problem/bug with the sniper rifles, they are what they are, I can't make a 200 yard shot at a guy running, and kill him first shot. And I hear alot of you saying you shot a guy 4 times in the chest, well from 200+ yards the bullet loses velocity and doesn't do as much damage, and seeing as some of the kits have added body armour its not really going to kill them. Aim for the head, it kills them in 1 shot.

I've found that I'm most accurate with the Chinese sniper rifle...
And I plan on unlocking the M95, is it worth it? :hmm:

I think so, its what I'll unlock next. Theres nothing like head shotting a heli pilot hovering over a flag. :)

How long you beein sniping for? Cos I find Headshots a lot more effective than body shots. I can hit a headshot on a stationary target within 200m more often than not.... and if it doesnt kill then i still get the kill damage assist!

Its called deviation and recoil if you prone down it lessens the deviation and recoil but it doesnt disappear meaning you still have a chance of missing it
