It's not realistic, sure, but that might have something to do with it being a GAME! You just gotta accept that and move on, then you'll learn to work within the constraints of the weapon and become more effective as a result.
You can stay on for 5 hours on the same server and get frustrated when you keep missing someone and they kill you with a machine gun.
You keep playing the game for 5 hours with a bug and glitch that should be fixed.
You keep playing for 5 hours and have the scope on someones head while they are prone and you have the crosshairs on the guys face and your bullet goes nowhere near they guy, because he doesn't even make a move or notice someone is shooting at him.
You need to realize that this is a glitch and not someone who is playing the game poorly. If it was something to do with how poor snipers ablility is you wouldn't be getting all the complaining with nobody saying its just you.

    Okay.....mate.

Just stick with usmc and the m24. You can snap off headshots with that without even trying. Pretty good rate of fire too and it doesn't have the, "HERE I AM" sound of the m95.

I spent two weeks toting around the m95, trying to get the most out of it, then went back to the m24. It was like light and day, m24 is so much more user friendly. I aim at somebody's head, WOW, I hit somebody's head. I can sit in place shooting at a stationary target with a m95 and miss 4 times in a row. I don't know what is going on.

Thing is, if you hit somebody in the head it doesn't matter if you're using the m24 or the m95, they're dead. The only plus to outweigh the cons on the m95 is armored-glass penetration, which doesn't cut it for me.

the only sniper worth anything in BF2 is the M24. the m90 i cant hit ish with the SVD is decent but still sucks and dont get me started on the type 88 i cant hit a thing for some reason.

i can hit targets with the m24 from 600m with no problem for the most part if they are not running.

Could you please tell me on which map you can even see 600 meter? There is something called fog when i play the game.

But please correct me if i am wrong.

I'm probably going to unlock the M95 when I reach SGT. Though the M24 is superior, one can't always guarantee they'll be on USMC. It's nice to have an alternative to the POS MEC and China sniper rifles.

I have found the m95 to be an awesome rifle. I hated it for a whole month probbably and just lately got used to it. Leme tell you one thing - On Sharqui Penninsula I can snipe the guys on top of the TV station from as far as the fog would let me see, and I hit standing targets there with maybe 80% accuracy. I am almost sure the rifle will hit if the guy is standing and not moving.

I used to use SVD and Chinese sniper from time to time after I unlocked m95. They are decent for some city maps and you can take out squads with them (you can't pretty much touch any group with m95 due to healing unless you can headshot) - but m95 is just a perfect all-around rifle. Good for distance and decent for close targets.

i think the M95 does not do enough damage the thing is armor peircing u can blow someones leg or arm off in 1 shot we should not have to take down a guy in 3-4 shots it should only take 1-2 shots.

Its been hashed and rehashed but I agree the M95 needs its damage increased Im not saying it has to be a 1 shot 1 kill weapon, but at the very most it shouldnt take more than 2 hits in the chest to kill someone.

How can it do that?? Less then 2 shots, but more then 1? 1.5 shots?

I have no clue what u're talking about. The m95 takes 2 (read TWO) shots to kill anything at most. Headshot is 100%+ damage. Chest is about 85% on armored or unarmored). m24 takes 95% on unarmored and about 70% on armored. Limbs are also over 50%. I can't remember exactly. You can actually even destroy an attack chopper with it in about 20 shots (4 m95 snipers can take a damaged atk chopper down in about 4 seconds).

Well, because theres no scope drift there has to be some bullet diviation of some sort or the sniper rifles would end up being the railguns from quake 2. I dont know how this is programmed but I dont have a problem killing people with the sniper rifle (although the M95 is a waste of a kit as far as im concerned since the M24 does the same damage but just doesnt have any glass penetration). Maybe adjust the M95 to have a bigger zoom or something.

i also think there is a problem with bullets and walls. so supposedly only high caliber weapons, like the tanks machine guns and hummvee machine guns can shoot through some types of walls.
i've been shot through walls by m16s and other types of guns. not just thin walls but brick walls and crates.
I have the same problem and it's annoyign as ****. Oh and the M24/SVD are much more accurate and seem to kill better than the .50 cal M95.. But in a real world situation .50 cal sniper rifles are accurate up to 2000 yards and even then will go through a concrete wall and kill the target. Too bad Dice couldn't dop any research or hire a decent military advisor
