Jet Pricks... grow up already!

The sad thing is on some servers half the team is waiting for a jet or chopper to spawn and could care less if the enemy is capping all the flags on the map. Just to fly around drop a few bombs and then crash or be shot down. The jets are really pointless in the game and take away from the teamplay.

I have a good story; I hopped in the chopper before some other dude, so he waited ontop of it until I took off, Team killed him and was punished of coarse. AFter about 5 mins of flying I return to the airbase and he is sitting in a jeep, he sees me and starts firing at the chopper, doing a serious amount of damage. I was in the repair area at the time, so the effect was neutral. I can just imagine the number of "Team Vehicle Damage" messages he got over that 60 second period... his score started positive. ended -38... plus I never died

Heh, playing as a commander it's always nice to call arty on enemies airfields/carriers where there's people like ants waiting for jets or helicopters. One would think that it would make sense doing something else when there clearly isn't any jets or helicopters available... but no, there's always people waiting and fighting over them

Lol, its best when there are a couple of guys waiting for a jet, yesterday i saw about 7 guys waiting, each one was ready to pounce on the other to get the jet first, and when the jet did re-spawn, while they were all fighting and trying to get the best of each other, i just flew of in the jet...Stupid people, happens everytime i go to the jets.

When I'm in a crashin... err.. flying mood, I'll spawn at the airfield and hope I can get in to a jet / chopper the next time it comes up. I'll wait a minute or two, and if it appears - good. If not, I walk my happy ass in to combat. If there is already a person or two there waiting their turn, I'll walk my happy ass in to combat. WHEN I die (not if ), I'll spawn again at the airfield.. If someone was waiting on my jet / chopper, I'll go fight on foot. I'm not doing my team any good by camping out with half a dozen other guys waiting on a plane, and we're probably a juicy arty target too.

What does make me mad is when I'm the only person waiting on a jet / chopper and 3 or 4 other people turn up. Instead of going in to combat themselves, they'll stand around and wait. I usually stand off to the side of the hanger or whatever, but they'll go to the middle in hopes of getting the jet the instant it appears... kinda cutting in front of me in line. Pretty rude if you ask me. In that case, again, I'll walk my happy ass in to combat.

So I go and join a Pub ranked server, like always...I perfer the Med size maps because they allow for more aircraft w/o a lot of lag and/or time spent traversing the map...

ANYWAY, I go to fly one of the jets (been practicing :hmm: ) and I sprint to the runway and hop in my plane...then just as I begin to go, another player runs out on the runway and refuses to move because "he was here first and he wants to fly!"

so of course I take off anyway, and get punished...(OF COURSE ) and this happens a few more times until I get kicked...

this is a really serious problem for me, because I dont have much time to play this game, and when I do I really dont want to have to deal with this ****...

If you know someone like this, or are "one of these people" yourself...grow some pubes and start acting a little more mature

That will never change, all you can do is find well admin'ed servers to boot people like that :)

Maybe you'll have to go grab a snack or something.. but even though he DESERVES to die, you know he'll punish every time. Eventually he will get bored and leave

As a commander i love this jet heli hogs.

I watch the scan and when I see 5-6 people all waiting for the heli or jet to appear I queue arty on their pos and go about my day with a smile. :-)

I've had similar experiences many times.

I get into the empty jet on the carrier and go to take off. Jerk off team mate decides he has the right to fly since he got there after me and plants himself firmly infront of me about to take off. I swear, if there should be grounds for insta-ban that should be it.

So, I proceed to take off (he is rubbing his hands together at the chance to punish me) and then hit the vertical take off. I go straight up, denying him of his chance to punish me for his forced TK. He spent the next 10 or so minutes going on a tirade insulting me. After that, I smiled and kick/banned him....ever so satisfying.

On Gulf of Omean I actually had a guy jump in the attack heli and crash it into my jet as I was hovering up to get enough altitude to get going. All because he wanted to fly the jet. Not only was it a waste of a jet, but he destroyed the heli as well. I don't stand in front of or on helis or jets just because someone else got to it first, but when people start doing that crap to me you better believe I'm going to do it back and get them tk-kicked from the server.

Just take their names and report them to the admins..

If we start fighting back, getting them banned, they will eventually get the hint that this is a team game.....

Good idea, but unfortunatley, in my experience 4 every 1 of the little s**ts u get rid of, 2 more take its place..

It's ok in the J10's as you can just do a verticle take off but for the other planes it sucks.

We are trying to get rid of this problem on our server, anybody we find doing this gets kicked and a ban for the round.

If they keep persisting they are perm banned.

It's just selfishness and a lack of patience and courtesy.

I kinda figured this would happen when playing the demo days. So, I hardly never fly planes or heli's. Was on a server yesterday defending a flag, and I can see in the chats "Get out of my plane moron!". And it got worse. I do not want to challange a child so, I am mostly on the ground. Plus the avionics are not that great, and flying in a caged area isn't helpfull. If the area and avionics were like Lomac and Falcon 4.0, and more room to fly, then it would be different. Those AA tanks need fixing. I can fire like crazy on enemy aircrafts and I get a message.."Teamkill" or "Team vehicle damage". Really odd..no matter how many times I use AA tanks, I get that message. Also the Aircrafts never gets destroyed or if their is any damage at all. An aircraft VS the AA tanks. Aircrafts always wins.
