I think Dice is likely dissapointed regarding BF2 on some levels.

I think enough has been posted here about the benefits of squads and VOIP in a team orientated environment. If you don't get it, or it doesn't interested you, that's your choice. However why play a team game if you don't want to be a team member? What would be your ideal team enhancement tool, or team play options?

I usually join a squad to find no one working together. When I get put in the SL spot, I usually give an order and hardly anyone listens just because I give an order. But when you start really driving it home on people, they start to listen to you. It doesnt matter if they dont have a mic for VOIP, people tend to listen to you when you give them a strategy. You still have some losers that refuse to do anything with the unit, which is why the kick function is good. Most of the times Ive played though, i havent really tried to put a functional squad together cause I was trying to get my unlock. But now that I have it, I want to play seriously now.

Don't even get me started on the negatives of squad play.

Mics are too cheap they are brittle and break if they slip off a desk so I won't ever buy another one again. I bought 8 Logic mics for SOCOM II and they all broke, 45$ canadian dollars a piece so no thanks, **** VOIP i'll use my hands and type. Companies do on purpose to make these mics as cheap as possible it's how they make money

Actualy I would like you to name some?

And tell me why you must suffer them in order to be in a squad?

I take the good and leave the bad.

              LOL. :)
Sure there are negatives, being in a squad doesn't mean diddly squat unless the squad leader and squad are communicating and playing as a team. I've joined squads and left almost immediately because I either felt the squad leader was clueless, or for instance they were spread all over the map, or not communicating.

Rather than providing one liners, if you can coherently elaborate on the negatives of squad play, why not educate the general populace?
Do you think squad play in a team game is totally bad, or maybe this system is flawed to an extent it's unworkable and if so why? Or are there just negatives which can be circumvented?

... that's why I said it and the only reason it is negative is because noone uses it correctly only to name the big one.

That doesn't look robust. One good slip or a cat gets on the desk and that thing is toast. A gust of wind would likely take it out too

Earlier you said you want to play how you play and not have anyone else tell you what to do etc? Now you're implying the squad system is OK, but it's not used right?
So "...the only reason it is negative is because noone uses it correctly" is only one reason, and one which can be circumvented by players using it correctly? I see players using it correctly regularly. Squad leaders talking to squad members and vice versa. Commanders talking to squads. Squad leaders talking to commanders etc. Maybe it depends what servers you play on?
Do you ever start squads and use it correctly? I find if you lead by example, others follow.

Works fine for me, but then I'm not particularly clumsy, don't have a cat or play BF2 outside...
It's the toughest mic I've used and better than the headset mics I've had over the years, which do die quite quickly. The sound quality is good also, you can sit back and talk.
