I encourage people to hop up and down trying to avoid my onlaught. It's funny as hell to blast someone with the shotgun while they are in mid-air, and much, MUCH more satisfying.

    Dance ***** ..... DANCE

While bunny hopping has been around since the days of Quake, I don't think they actually figured so many players would be abusing it to avoid taking damage.
Yes, they figured so many players would be abusing it to avoid damage because as you said yourself, it's been around since the days of Quake. The ONLY people who wouldn't foresee jumping around to not happen would be a developer or gamer that has never played another first-person shooter in their life. If the game has the ability to jump, people ARE gonna do it.

By the way, I don't appreciate your loose reference to something as serious as the Nazi regime. It's completely disrepectful to the Jewish community.
Yeah, just like it's insulting when people call me an American because it's completely disrespectful to the Native Indian community. Or calling someone Japanese offending the poor Chinese that were brutally slaughtered by them in WWII as well.

Using Nazi as a means to insult someone over the internet completely trivializes the holocaust.

Your analogies are off base, especially the native american one.

Bunny Hopping is not cheating. I know its annoying but i find myself bunning hopping sometimes. I think its force of habit from my time play UT. I was always jumping in that game and if someone says they havent'...they never played Face.

I hate the excessive jumping (bunny hopping, whetever)... It looks like shlt in a game that is attempting to create a modern combat atmosphere, and it messes with the limitations of playing over an internet..

Each computer is sending and receiving packets of information which says where a player is and where bullets are in relation to targets; the excessive jumping basicly creates its own simulated Lag. Seeing as how you can be shooting at where you see the player to be, but due to the excessive jumping, the players location information is being delayed in comparison to th eopponents bullets whch are trying to connect with the target...

Bottom line though- the Jumping is a complete and useless joke, and it makes an otherwise great game, look like shlt; along with its programmers or whomever decided to leave this crap in the game..

...so no, I guess it's not cheating, it's taking advantage of the hitbox (or whatever it's called) that BF2 uses to try to simulate actual bullet/target hit detection by screwing up where the game thinks you're going to be. Or something.
which is an exploit - which is a cheat in my eyes.
SoF2 used to have people who leaned or even had lean scripts. while leaning you were harder to hit because it screwed up the hit box somehow. you'd be running at them and shooting and then all fo a sudden they go prone and lean and your shots miss.

if its exploiting game mechanics to get an edge of another player, its a ****ing cheat

Bunny hopping is ghey, as is the insta-prone/roll. Anyone who just adores it should piss off back to CS. A Forgotten Hope like solution would prolly be best, where you just cant fire straight for a second or two after the manouvre.

Should EA fix this, I will personally give them a blow job.

lol that is quite agreed... i think that if you jump around in order to kill someone you dont really have any tactical skill or ability to concentrate... all you do is jump and shoot until you are lucky enough to hit someone

Bunnyhopping might help you dodge stuff, but doesn't it expose you more? What kind of sniper passes up a bobbing target? :yay:
