Ok Ultra HIgh does nothing. Here is my arguement: I've done this is the full game. When you change video settings you get a message saying shaders are being optimized and that this will happen each time you change video settings. When I switced to Ultra High there was no optimizing, it just loaded up like normal.

Plus I couldn't see a dif with my eyes..

I can go higher but at least i can make myself happy by having a 6X AA on while playing...

Oh my system should be able to handle it and much more. I am running 130FPS per video card

Asus P5ND2 SLI
2 gigs Corsair PC6400 800mhz
2 Western Digital 74 gig raptors RAID 0
2 Nvidia 7800GTX in SLI
680 watt PSU

I am running 16AA and 16AF through open GL with the Nvidia control panel but cant get battlefield to show the settings

It won't show the settings until you open the video.con file with notepad and change the 3's to 4's - see start of thread again.. Nice rig man. I was gonna build a new rig this winter but I reckon i'll just buy an xbox360 instead, i mean jeeeeez what a spec for 200 quid..

anyway, i'm getting the same error with the boot to desktop after the file is modded.

I had problems like that when I edited the resolution in the video.con. Did you do that?

yeah but get this. i pwned this error in the balls. all you have to do is make sure not to edit the

VideoSettings.setResolution

leave it how it is and i didn't change the anti aliasing either. also left my lighting on medium. but i think the resolution is what was making our penises flaccid. anywho, this should add some rigidity to your schlong.

also i'd like to point out that the guy who is saying "the shaders aren't being optimized, and i'm a little pansy" is only half wrong. the shaders don't get optimized because you make the changes before you boot up bf2. when you change settings IN GAME you have to get optimized before the match. but in this case, the changes were recognized at startup, but like i said, you had your statement halfway correct, pansy.

I would imagine that you have clear the cache thing to get the properly optimized shaders etc...?

So you have this kick-ass rig and your game video looks like this? That pic shows the game is not doing any AA. See the stair-stepping along the rotor blades etc? AA would smooth those out. So you have some tweaking to do!

I would imagine that you have clear the cache thing to get the properly optimized shaders etc...?

Yes, sometimes the old or current cache just isn't quite right. To delete it can only bring improvement by allowing the game to reconfigure itself. This is especially true if you have made numerious changes to your settings.

Exactly, which means that some of the guys here talking about how it looks better in UltraHigh may just be imagining things and should try this.
