Actually, you can set up your server to update your MBL throughout the day. So, as players are added, they are updated on your servers at your next update. The public list does not have all the latest bans, you have to have a server streaming to PB to have access to the current MBL. I personally don't understand why anyone would run a server that does not both stream to PB and auto update their MBL throughout the day.

I dont think its new. I think servers are just slow on updating it. I knew about punkbuster when i became an admin on Timeless. I didn't know bout pbbans I found that out as I was researching how to stream to PsB.

It just takes a little interest and wham bam.

Streaming has been around for a long time. PB just came out with a new update a few weeks back that caught one of the more popular aimbots. It is a constant thing where PB updates, catches the cheats, the companies making hacks change them so they aren't detected again, PB updates again to get the new cheats and on and on.

The streaming ban list is an aditional service a server provider has to order & purchase, but it's not too expensive, as I recall. I agree that it ought to be a standard- There's no real overhead associated, you could just as well make it mandatory for ranked servers as far as I'm concerned. *That* might cut the crap down a bit, eh?

All you need is FTP to your server which is allowed to certain areas by EA. (They dont allow you access to BF2142 game files lol). Then add a couple of lines to a config file... register at PBBANS and PsB and away you go.

No cost, hardly any effort and both parties bend over backwards to help you.

Yep, and if you can't get it done, just submit asupport ticket with your server provider and they will set it up for you. Really no reason why all servers shouldn't be doing this. I agree that it should be required for your server to be ranked.

All ranked servers streaming PsB, and hardware bans for the busted... That'd put some frickin' teeth into the enforcement for these jackarses. "Gee cheater-boi, now you need new mobo/CPU/GPU to play any ranked server on any game PsB serves..."

It's not punk buster it is the server admins checking logs and turning them in to PB. If you have acess to your server logs check the cheat log all the ppl who get aimbot or other violations via pb are in there.
