As a huge fan of bf series(i mean all bf games) lately i have this feeling that EA and dice left me in a corner (patch that taking half a year to be released with minor fixs :|:)im myself besides bf a big fan of COD series and gonna go for it and leave the battlefield...

CoD is @#$% at anything over 24 players. No vehicles, small maps, maybe it'll appeal to CS players, but its not the same as Battlefield.

There are a lot of differences between the two games... I think the hardcore/clan BF community will not switch to CoD4 because of the gameplay (teamplay) elements (e.g. squad system) that are present in BF and which CoD4 lacks.

Sure, CoD4 will be fun to play online, but it'll have overpowered/underpowered weapon/skill issues as well. For example, the feign dead perk (or last stand or whatever it is called, don't remember) is a good candidate for being on the top of whining lists on forums if it works the way it does in the trailers.

Call of duty has a lot of teamwork in it actually. It's not the run and gun type of game that Battlefield is. Using squad tactics and the weapon system works well together. Different people will have specialties that other people won't. People in the COD4 won't whine and moan about perks as much as this community does about everything. Honestly, this is one of the most whiny communities I have ever seen. They have done things to make sure the perks aren't heavily one-sided and they can be countered. But I do hope the 2142 community doesn't move to COD so they don't ruin another game.

Well, Battlefield isn't a run and gun game either, but much as you'll find out once the masses start playing CoD4, the players can turn it into that. Quake. Unreal Tournament. Half Life 2 Deathmatch. Those are run and gun games. Battlefield's pacing all by itself pretty much puts the kibosh on any notion of it being a run and gun game out of the box, nevermind all the situational rock-paper-scissors business of the kit structures and mission objectives. But players... well, they can make it be that by their play style. If you think you won't happen across an equal number of CoD4 games that devolve into that, well... that's sweet.

Using squad tactics and the weapon system works well together. Different people will have specialties that other people won't.

Well, again, it's sweet that you think that. Hasn't been a CoD game yet whose community didn't have it's equivalent or greater share of bellyaching members. CoD4 will be no exception. Once it's out for a few weeks and the bloom is off the rose, the whiners will come boiling out of the woodwork, just like every other game in existence.

But I do hope the 2142 community doesn't move to COD so they don't ruin another game.

Yeah. Because that's what the 2142 community does. It moves from game to game like a cloud of locusts, it's sole, all-consuming purpose being to ruin it for everybody else. Because no game has ever, or will ever, spawn it's own home-grown crop of constantly complaining players. :shakehead::dead:

It bears stating for the record, I'm going to be all over CoD4 when it gets out, so please don't take anything I've written as a slam against that game. I think it's going to be a ton of fun, and hopefully gets the series back on track after CoD2 and CoD3 veered off into "m'eh" territory.

I heard from people in the beta that the balance is nearly perfect. Bf still isn't balanced and the game has been out for more then a year. hmmmm....

Last stand isn't overpowered. One mere bullet will kill a last stander. It just requires you to be alert instead of running around spraying everything to death... Like the Voss...

Somebody will get their *** kicked up over their shoulders by somebody else using a given weapon or tactic or perk, and start bitching about how unfair it is.

At which time you should put your water wings on, 'cause that's when the floodgates will open and the complaints of balance issues, over powered weapons, and stupid perks will come rolling in from every lame-nut who got themselves beat like a drum.

Some complaints will probably be legit. Most of them will just be the same kind of whining any other shooter on the planet has to endure these days.:shakehead:

This is true. The game has auto snipers, people will complain.
