i thought the exact same at first dude but i gave it a second chance and IMO the learning curve kills the game for some people, but once you get good its very addictive and great fun.

its not the learning which killed it for me. I expected different and got otherwise in terms of gameplay and layout.

IMO your going to get a lot more cheats than BF2 2142 ever had.. we know there are a lot of cheats in the BF games but what puts off more people from cheating is getting your stats wiped.. with cod4 there isnt the same stat system therefore people wont be bothered as they wont get anything wiped.. we put a cod2 server up last week and within the first hour punkbuster caught several cheaters.. do you think those guys are gonna stop it on cod4.. you`ll get all the cod2 and bf2 2142 hackers cheating on cod4..

ET:QW was just a horrible game, the vehicles in that game were just terrible, too sensitive, even if I lowerd the damn bar all the way down, in reality, Battlefield is probably the only multiplayer game that has it right (with the exception of minor bugs and glitches of course) in terms of vehicle usage and infantry combat, but, Crysis will soon be out, so even if its multiplayer sucks, there will be a modern based war mod for it soon after, then, and only then can we decide.

So true. Battlefield with it's great vehicle and CQC is realms above the competition. I'm not playing it anymore and there are some things I can't talk about.... but there is competition coming. Early next year. Nuff said.

I have hope that CoD4 might bring good gameplay to the table. I've decided to buy it just for the singleplayer campaign as they've been very, very good on the previous editions and the demo is sweet.

The devs say that their focus has been on the multiplayer experience, so I've got high hopes that MP will be very fun. It could go badly, but we will see in two weeks.

I play 2142 still cause my clan does. They are switching to crysis/CoD4, I moved mainly to ET:QW

Vehicles in QW are balanced so that they are NOT overpowered, you have to learn how to avoid being killed, unlike in BF, where you could just hop in a tank and kill things til someone RDX'd or Pilum'd you. You have to actively watch the vehicles health, and hop out and repair from time to time. The air vehicles are far superior. They don't die if you bump a tree, they are faster and more easy to maneuver and the weapons actually have decent splash damage! Also, you have to actually LOCK ON to a vehicle (missiles can lock onto ANY vehicle? WHAT A CONCEPT!) instead of figuring out a secret sweet spot.

as for BF2 wow you must really suck to get killed like that and what kind of smack tard do you have to be to run into karkand allys at the start of the round thats just so freakin stupid.

bf2 is fun, is somewhat better then 2142 and you just got owned so you decide to bash it, G36E is an excuse, if you cant kill some one with one then you really need to rethink your strategy.

It might be just me but I detested QW after playing the demo. Just was not for me, but it's good that there are people enjoying it. Maybe all the hassle to come to terms with it and I don't time right now to invest the needed amount to make it enjoyable and not be a doormat to step on.

For a different reason TF2 does not get my full attention. The game is too fast paced for my old reflexes. It's too much into my face with bunnying around. Everyone is pyro and then the running around in cramped spaces torching everyone. Once in a while I do enjoy it though but not as my main attraction of the show. The characters are really hilarious though.

And this same goes to CoD multiplayer series somewhat. I only bought them for SP experience and plan to do so with CoD4.

QW is okay. Doesn't really come close to knocking 2142 off it's lofty perch in my book, but it fun enough in small doses. I like all the toys in the kits, though I think the Recon's deployable camera is kind of... dumb. The premise doesn't work... let's have this deployable camera so we can see what's going on... except... in order to place it where you want it to see what it can see, you have to be there to do it, so... why place the camera again when you're already there and can see for yourself? It would have been better as a little remote controlled flying spy cam, I think.

Sticking it in a corridor and blowing it up when a bad guy goes by is kind of cool, but the rest of the game is so fast-paced, it kind of sucks to just huddle yourself away somewhere and then wait for some enemy slob to come by to detonate on.

I actually think having stats promotes cheating rather then the opposite.

Sure you will get the occasional smacktard who will cheat but after a while they leave.

I think if I were to start playing any fps again i'd be team fortress 2.It looks great,lots of classes and well balanced with some classes being effective at one range but vunerable at another.
