If only there were more maps. :p

Thanks to TF2, I can't snipe properly in BF2142 anymore, since sniping in TF2 allows you to move around without messing up your accuracy.
    Pff, snipers :p

Yesterday I noticed a blue dot coming in from a doorway.
I took the liberty of placing my spray on top of it, which caused it to wave around a bit disoriented before it disappeared.
I bet he didn't expect the Spanish inquisition!

Yeah I suck at sniping in 2142 since all my other games (Halo, Dys, TF2), all don't have movement penalties. :p

BTW, the best user-created map I've seen so far is Crazed_arena.

All the others were way too favoring of snipers. Though Battle Creek is fun in any game.

People overrate ping as a factor in these games. It can be a slight disadvantage, but I play on US servers pretty often and do just fine. Both in 2142 and TF2. I even play comp on US servers and don't feel that hard done by.

Well I'll be sure to try joining the server sometime. Last time I joined a TG7 server on BF2142 I ended up being kicked a few seconds later for reasons I have yet to find out.

i have seen people play with pings of well over 500 in TF2 and it doesnt effect them. I have not had a single piece of lag in this game so far, it feels like im playing SP all the time.

While I wouldn't go that far, source games seem to have some of the best netcode to me, as non-reg's are very rare compared to other engines.

There is a little warping sometimes though, nothing's perfect.

Likely the server was full and you tried joining on one of the reserved slots. More info in the FAQ.

Our TF2 server does not use an automatic reserved slots system. Also, our TG7 server is a team server, not the official TG server.

There is no way this is Battlefield, you have that right. This is a different kind of shooter.

The 'weird' class experience you might be having is that this game forces you to team up with other players to cover your weaknesses and for you to add your advantages to their actions. Thus, if you don't work with your teammates, you'll not have a lot of fun.

I'm sorry your experience was somehow "boring" because I have not been bored once. Instead, I have to force myself to stop playing to do RL stuff...
That's funny cause I can see the spys even when they are NOT MOVING.... it does seem to be very hard to notice them, and I do think your right about the movement... but I've seen them.... it's quite funny actually when you DO notice them hiding in a corner not moving... cause when you start to gun them down they freak out! :P

I disagree, if you didn't like TFC from the orginal half life, TF2 is most DEFINATELY not for you. I on the other hand liked TFC... but I'm still somewhat disappointed with TF2 because it is just TOO similar to TFC... they should of at least came up with more original levels... some are pratically DIRECT copies of the old ones from TFC. The biggest change was small tweaks to the classes..... granted it's still fun, but it's not really anything new unless you count the added humor of the enviroment and the new graphics.
