Probably the art direction is what makes my attitude so. You just look at stuff/characters in TF2 and want to bust out laughing at the characatures. =P

The phrases are hilarious, I used the voice menu to spot a spy and the HW guy goes "I see a spy with my little eye!"

I was like wtf, and laughing for the better part of a minute.

Also, the Medic is a cool dude who heals folks, allows for there to be an invincibility element to the game and has a decent short-range "hypogun" and an extremely lethal Bonesaw as a melee weapon. That "knife" of his is very, very dangerous in the hands of a skilled medic. It can be kinda startling to be attacked with one, too -- let alone humiliating...

I was so embarrassed when I was healing my heavy and an opposing medic caught me with the bonesaw.

The attack animation doesn't look too strong, but I guess it is. :cry:

Anyway, My favorite classes are Scout (Dys really helps with the "aim on the move" thing), Medic (the "needler" is pretty fun to use, and healing nets a lot of assists), and Engi (zomg now I know why there's always so many engi lovers.....).

Which is offset by my sucking at Sniper, Pyro, and especially Demoman.

TF2 is brilliant and very addictive.

Ok, no arguement with the recipe they used, but um... it's just about the same as Team Fortress Classic that was on Half Life...... there's almost no difference, not even the levels.... unless of course you count the huge upgrade to the graphics, but then, not eveyone likes the cartoony look either.

Yeah, TF2 is my new favorite game and trying to play 2142 afterwards can be challenging. I've learned to play a few rounds of 2142, then go for a little TF2 action afterwards.

I'm a pretty effective Pyro and Engineer. I'm trying to learn to be a good Demoman and Scout. This game has the best Spies I've seen implemented with disguises, complete invisibility and a fatal backstab.

Um, best spies? Again, same thing as what was in team fortress classic in half life (yes half life ONE).

I'd think that Battlefield players would really enjoy the Spy, the Sniper and the Scout.

The Spy looks to be a lot of fun. As a Pyro, they are my prey, though, so they die a lot. =) But, they get great disguises and have complete invisibility for limited time.

The Sniper is a great shooter. Duh! He also has a SMG and a machete, so he is a good all around fighter. If you can snipe close quarters in BF2142, you'll have a blast here.

The Scout would be perfect for anyone with a good aim because while the Scout is fast, he also has a potent shotgun and accurate pistol. If you can aim on the move, the Scout is a great choice.

I can see the Steam price is $49.95, but can any Europeans tell me how much tax/VAT will be added? I suspect around 25%, which will match the store price.

Release dates also confuses me a bit, I see it ranging from october the 17th to the 19th?

My experiences with EA has made me a bit wary of electronic purchases, so I would like your input.

Well he's certainly a lot harder to see then a camo'd recon, or even a stealther in Dys for that matter......

Also, the spy had cloak in TFC?

Imo, the game just feels a lot smoother now. everything has been streamlined, no soldiers going through 6 weapons or whatever, no generic shotgun for everyone (the scout especially was SO generic), and no million (ugly a$$) menus to go through for engi and spy.

Steam is quite reliable imo. Only problem I ever got was with advent rising, and that was just cuz the game wasn't meant for duel cores.....plus this is a high-profile release, valve would want to screw it up by giving out corrupted copies (unlike EA ).

I'm frustrated that I'm not enjoying TF2, I played for a few hours and it just... annoyed me. Cartoony graphics, silly gameplay... bleh... doesn't appeal.

Still, Portal and Episode 2 were extremely enjoyable and well worth the £20 odd I spent on the Orange Box.

yes your steam account name is shared with your friends so if u want to ad a friend u must give them your steam account name in order fo them to add u

And yes your nick can be changed at will.

In CS and such you can even change your in-game to something other then your nick. :nod:

I believe that to be correct Vreki, also people on you friendslist can see your list of aliases as well, so all in keep your friends close and your enemies 'plonked'**

PS The orange box on Steam is a good buy, I don't believe I paid any UK tax on top of said fee. And 5 games for $50 is not to be sniffed at.
