I must be strange, because I wouldnt mind if it was subscription based.
Say $3 a month and then a free NS like booster each three months.

That way DICE would have incentive to provide new content instead of dumping the game after half a year to work on something new. And everybody would have the expansions

But it should still be Battlefield, I fear that they might try to introduce the timesinks that MMORPGs are so famous for.
I dont want to have to clean my rifle between each round.
And dont try to introduce some level based skills either. The unlock system is fine as it is, but much more than that and the fights will be won by whoever has the higest rank, not by the most skilled.

And its not worth the same subscribtion as WoW and other mmorpgs, they offer way more content and run the servers.
But $2 - $3 a month would be fine with me, thats nothing.

      Too many anti-tank whores.......

When I get bored with bf2142 I will go back and play on a few bf2 maps. Yesterday playing on Ghostown and Dragon Valley I could'nt believe the number of anti-tank whores running around. Just could'nt remember game play being that screwed up. Every time that I jumped into a tank or apc they swarmed on me like locust. Just having a bad day, I guess........

Yeah, you're right Vreki - I wouldn't mind a couple bucks a month. I guess my brain was just stuck on the $15 price point that the MMORPGs have pretty much staked out as "normal".

I would gladly pay 2 bucks a month so that EA is happy. They shouldn't dump a game like they did with BF2. When I heard that they released a new map I was like: "lol they must be joking". They can fix bf2 with so little effort, I don't get why they don't fix it -.-

Disagree. The Tiger may have TWO kill spots to the Neko's SINGLE kill spot, but the single one on the Neko is so freaking enormous I'd prefer to take shots at that sucker all day long over the Tiger's two smaller ones. You have to be six different kinds of steaming crap to miss it.

It's really six of one, half dozen of the other, I suppose. Neither tank can really be considered "better" than the other in that regard.

I prefer the Tiger for the stability and the 360 turret, but guys who are good in the Neko absolutely have to be respected.

I agree, but the thing is that most maps are not large enough (with the exception of Shuhia and Tampa) to give the Tiger an advantage. The neko flanks his target, fires at its *** and boom, kill.

Yes the dreaded space-bar-plunge-of-death. The worse thing was that even after remembering it's #9... I still instinctively pounded on the spacebar... then remembered... but by then... SPLAT!!!! It took quite a few rounds to finally get back into the grove.

I just got BF2 Collection a few weeks ago and I totally suck at it. I suck worse when playing as USMC with burst only rifles. I had yet to get the purple heart, but I guess that I'll get it soon very seriously involuntarily. Whose idea is that to put real life burst only function to the game? And why can't I grind down the burst disconnector to make it auto just like real life? (It won't pass the inspection, though people probably don't care about that in battlefield.)

Though I played 2142 more recently, I do hope that maps in 2142 look as good as maps in BF2. Also, I hope Baur does 40 damage all the way just like G3.

Heh, I remember the awards... and those were just for show :P (I actually spammed grapple hooks for a badge :P)
Ranks in 2142 actually MEAN something, unlocks in BF2 were... meh at best, but then BF2142 you get all kinds on nice gadgets and stuff :)
Really the variety is in the unlocks, but it would be nice to see more vehicles...

More variety on the maps is needed. BF2142's maps are fat and ull compared to Bf2's nice and slim maps :P

well, it really helps with the aircraft, cause in BF2 you'd get "Soldier, get back here!" every 10 seconds... too bad theres only 4 in BF2142 :P a bomber would be nice too... they'd have to just make the SAAW a bit better :P

Oh man... Armed assault... No bunnyhoppers in that game. I think it's more like simulation than FPS. But i haven't played in a long time, maybe i should try again.
