    My feedback on the patch.

Hey guys, I've played the beta extensively lately, so I thought I'd write down my thoughts about it to give you some sort of an indication about how it's gonna be.

    • Fixed an exploit that would allow commanders to call Orbital and EMP strikes before it had fully recharged.
It works. This change is good, nuff said.

    • The Clark RDX Shotgun can now detonate other nearby explosives.
Interesting change. I have saved quite a lot of armour by popping the Motion Mines with my Clark 12. What I don't know: when I pop an enemy claymore and the thing detonates in an enemy's face, will that be a kill for me or a teamkill for claymore boy? Anyway, this change make the Clark 12 more useful, but I'd kinda renders the Engineer's defuser useless... Not that anyone would use it anyway.

    • EU Assault Rifle recoil and deviation have been slightly reduced.
The most important change of the patch. I think that the balance between the ARs is perfect now. Each AR has it's own speciality and they all perform good on every range. The SCAR is great for medium range in burst fire, and it is a worthy opponent to the Krylov.

    • Bianchi and Shuko LMGs recoil reduced.
I love this change. The LMGs are now useful again. If you stand in an LMG's fire too long, you'll most certainly die. The LMG-HMG balance is great. The LMG is more mobile and favours close and mid range combat were the HMG favours mid to long range. A nice side-effect: more peeps will go for LMGs, thus decreasing the amount of Vossers and PK spammers. There is more diversity on the Battlefield now.

    • Clark Shotgun rate of fire increased.
Oh yeah... some of you might know that I am a true Clarkianist. I love the damned thing and this change makes the Clark king of CQC. Accuracy is still important when you use the Clark, but you can now actually beat Vossers after you miss your first shot. The Vossers will most likely start to hate this weapon, simply because the Clark woops their *** now. The balance is still good though. Clark sucks at mid range and because you can fire faster, you'll have a lot more recoil to correct for. So you won't see any Clark pray and spray noobs.

    • Added an autosave to kit customisations. After you customise a kit and spawn in with that kit, the customisation will be automatically saved until you change it and spawn in again. Note that you must spawn in with a particular kit for it to be saved.
This works, and I love it. This change remembers your last kit outfit (it separates EU and PAC kits), so you can quickly select a kit to kick ***. A nice and comfortable addition to the game.

    • Added a new map, Highway Tampa.
Tank lovers, behold the new map: Highway Tampa. The ultimate tank map! When the battle enfolds, you'll see 6 or 7 tanks for both PAC and EU. Two walkers, two gunships (64 player version). You can expect some major tank battles in this map. Assault and Support also have enough to do. There are more then enough Engi's to own

Anyway, that's what I think about the new patch. Any beta testers here who agree/disagree?

I like the clark change. That thing sorely needed a buff.

Highway tampa will probably replace shuhia taiba as my favourite map. It even makes BF2 playable :P

Nice writeup. I played with the beta for a little bit but only in the Tampa Map. I'm a Clark whore myself, so it will be interesting to see how many more users follow suit. I may go back to the Baur if I find too many Clark-wielding nubs all of a sudden...

Sounds like its gonna be the best and most noticible patch. Im psyched about the clark the most. The assault rifle balance sounds very promising

Are you saying that you die more because you can fire faster, or what?

I already like the Clark, so I don't think the boost was needed.
But I will enjoy it as long as it doesn't mean everybody else will be running around with the clark.

The Clark's utter uselessness at anything other than close range will serve as an effective counterbalance to its newfound (and rightful) dominance in close quarters. Players smart enough to avoid engaging Clark-ists at anything under 20 meters will have no difficulty with it at all. Whereas Clark-ists who are able to maneuver and flank so that all of their confrontations occur at the shortest range possible will find dominance on an unprecedented scale.

Either way, the smart player wins, and the weapons are just a means to an end of a battle already fought and decided in the mind. As it should be.

Yeah, I hate not getting that OHK against an AR user or someone with a Lambert and having to wait what seems like an eternity for that second shot while he just holds down the fire button and sprays back and forth.

Truth be told, most of my Clark kills come at point-blank range so the increase in RoF will not help me much, except in those cases where I miss the first shot and I'm killed before I can shoot again. The thing is that I expect a lot more Clark players on the battlefield after the patch...

Haven't heard a single thing about that. They are gonna fix the Accipiter though... and podsurfing will also be fixed in the new patch.

Yeah, I hate that so much. Your first shot was fully aimed on his head and hey, he still lives! Wowzers, he must have a very very strong helmet. Int he new beta the Clark rapes infantry at close range. You'll probably see more Clarkers for a while, but I think that most of them will go back to their original weapons simply because the Clark requires good reflexes and a good accuracy (the spread of the shot is quite small, after all). There weren't a lot of people using the Clark in the beta servers (I played a lot in the Fall of Berlin and Camp G beta), so I guess the Clark will still remain an oddity :)

I love the changes to the Clark RDX and is now a useful addition to my loadout. I have been using it the past week to see what it's capable of and found that it can be useful - only in very specific situations. It's good for getting snipers out of towers. Good for finishing off people who have run into cover. Good for taking out Titan attackers from the opposite corridor entrance The addition of mine removal makes it that much more useful. In the last week I have gone from 10,000 + to 1,500 rankings. You kill one person and go up 500 ranks lol

The buff to the Clark 15B is welcomed although I always found this gem effective anyways.

Highway Tampa is a cool map. Don't think the design is as polished as it could be and could do with more variation in height. Still lot of fun - huge tank battles and defending Outposts from tank assaults.

The best change i njoy the most is the lmg's again. I used to use it much and run on frontline with it. but mostly now i use the ganz and stick back and squat n fire. the lmg improvement helps alot and brings the gun back.

Yeah, I don't see it really converting any assault players, and there are more of those on city maps than anything else (and understandably so). You still don't have a decent long-ranged weapon, the RDX boogers don't have even close to the effectiveness and usefulness as the PK rockets, you can't heal yourself, and you can't revive teammates. I think this will just make the already existing Clarkians much more lethal, which I'm all for.

You're forgetting the absolute best and most fun use for the RDX boogers - killing people in FAVs. One shot into the cockpit of an FAV will kill both the driver and the passenger. Funny thing is, they don't even realise it's happened until it's too late. They just keep driving and three seconds later, POW, two kills for you! Plus it doesn't really harm the FAV that much so you're free to take it yourself now.
