    Re: 4 man squads confirmed

not really since CoD wasn't the first game to use regenerating health
but the humvees will still get ripped apart, although (and I stress Im not being too serious using the R word since I know this is a game) cars or vehicles (especially armoured ones) can take a lot of punishment, not really the movie cliche where shooting a car makes it explode but meh will see how it plays out

as Kylee says if you are in a humvee or something the armour should protect the vehicle from instant destruction (if on full health) but don't expect to live if the door next to you got hit with the RPG

Tanks can be immobilised before they are destroyed, doesn't mean that when you reach 0 health you are immobilised, I think you can bisable different parts, like blow off tracks, tank can then be used like a stationary defensive emplacement
Engineers can repair it back to full health and as for regeneration it is only tiny amounts and depends where you were hit (if you immobilised you still need an engi) its not like you can hide behind a wall and self repair up to 100 you will need an engineer for proper repair

and I don't believe you will be saved from death in a tank, think it depends how heavily you are damaged but you still go kaboom
That sounds very interesting, provided that we get AT weapons with some kind of precision.
I would love being able to first cripple a tank, then blow the commander out of the turret before finally disintegrating the driver

yeh I really want to see how it works and if different area's of the vehicle can be targeted rather than just hit the back or sides

might also promote the nubs to use land mines more

Oh yeah, mines. I wonder if the engine might allow us to semi-bury mines? That would be great.
I really loved the mines in BF2142 because you could actually hide them, but I guess homing mines are out of the question for BF3.
In BC2 I had some great fun with mines hidden in rivers and at beaches, now imagine that mines could be hidden like that all over the map!
Still visible of course, just not the giant eyesores of BF2.

Yea you could see those things miles away, you might as well just had painted them red and put a flag on top.

Although hawtcakes I don't think you have any reason to instantly discredit a game based on things you don't really know about haha.

lol yeh I have so much fun with mines on Laguna Presa, especially with full boats ha :p and those hover mines placed behind corners ha

I think it should entice people more, Battlefield has always had a lot of thought behind it in terms of if the player wants to be good, the noobs don't think enough and die, when the game offers a lot of possibilities to do more and be better. The detail in the game should allow for a lot more possibilities

hopefully BF3 changes that, because then it will be more fun and challenging, im gonna enjoy shooting out lights to darken an area for an ambush, trying to hide mines behind rubble and using destruction more. I think Dice wants that as well tbh

noobs learning could be a dangerous problem, but hey since the wookie population will become exctinct in BF3 (and now instead be the face wrap population - which more or less behaves the same way) I guess they got to start somewhere

There was nothing I hated more than pulling off an amazing RPG shot on a helicopter just to watch it twirl as the crew escapes (BC2). How about this, if you're in an offensive airborne vehicle, you cannot bail out until you land. If you're in an airplane you can always eject but you don't get a second to do so when your vehicle reaches 0 health.

Does anybody have a link to specific vehicle health regeneration information?

If they called the squads "Fire teams" nobody would complain. I always loved the teamwork I would get from playing with a clan or with friends in BF2 and BF2142. I found it much harder to use teamwork in BC2.

Never said it was the first but its certainly the most popular.
The armored cars can take some damage but not the fleshy inhabitants.
Could be to early to tell but on paper giving a few seconds to escape is a bad idea imho.

At this point every game I see is kind of "Meh" after a few times looking at it.

Gaming ran out of creativity, and they're going with what works for money purposes. Get used to regenerating health.

                      Long live BF2142

For PC, maybe they will update it to 6 squads if enough people want it. The main thing I don't like is the ability to spawn on anyone in the squad. My squad is all over the map not working together, and when someone spawns on me they run off instantly. Now if you could only spawn on 1 person all teammates converge in one place and since you could only spawn on him, keeping him alive makes team work a priority. I had more team work in BF2 than any other FPS game i'v ever played with random people just because the way it was made, made working together better for the player. Go running around lonewolf in BF2 happened, but your a sniper and a tank rolls up and then your dead. However if you hang out with your 6 squad team and one is a AT your able to hold them off and be revived by another probably 4 medics in your squad.

In bfbc2 i have died multiple times because i was going ninja behind enemy lines and while i was reloading ina corner someone spawned right in front of me and alerted every enemy i was there . Atleast i hope they make it like bf2 , were if you spawn on someone you will be prone/crouching/standing acording to who you choose to spawn

You'll be disappointed as I did that not too long ago and it just felt really outdated... either that or I just wasn't good at it anymore lol.

It's the punkbuster BS and the generally flaky stability of old DICE games; you don't notice while you play them in order, but once you play a newer one and go back to an earlier game, they stick out like sore thumbs.
