They are releasing some patches today, mostly for the consoles as the PC is doing very well, according to them.

I also wanted to ask those who played FFoW and this one; To you, does it feel more like CoD or more like FFoW?

Re: Homefront details released for the PC

I'm really surprised with all the positive feedback you guys are giving the game considering everywhere else I have been reading has been completely slating it. The steam forums are ripe with people complaining of performance issues and multiplayer crap that make me very skeptical about getting this game.

I know you shouldn't always trust reviews but when 5 or 6 start to produce the same sort of score it starts to make you wonder. Let's not forget FFoW which tbf was a good game very poorly handled, which to me is exactly what homefront feels like now.

If I can find a cheap copy of it I will pick it up as it could hold me through till the release of brink along with crisis 2 but right now I don't feel like paying full price for a game that apparently doesn't look feel or play any different to a game released 5 years ago.

Going to give it a week yet until I make my final verdict but it's not looking good.

You should give it some more time.

The problem with the people gripping that I am seeing, is they are saying its like CoD or not enough like CoD. There are also some game issues itself, but I usually discount those because 80% of people dont keep their systems running well and actually deserve those problems.

If people would throw out the comparisions and respond on the forums based on the game alone (which TGN seems to be doing) it sounds like its actually a good game.

I was thinking about the SP being only 4-5 hours long. Were the First COD and MOH games SP that short all those years ago?

I don't know about MoH, but I beat the first CoD in around 6-7 hours of actual gameplay I think.

Half the people complaining in the Steam forums don't even have the game. They're stirring up trouble for no reason, just trolling. I'm able to play this game on my little $650 laptop just fine.

Sniper rifles are too powerful, but the developers have already acknowledged that and plan to tone them down a bit.

Then there are the client/server sync issues, but those are mainly down to modern PC gamers being too stupid to use a damned server browser. Morons in Australia (or somewhere else far away) joining servers in the US Midwest, lagging and causing problems for everyone. So some people tank a lot more bullets than others, then kill everyone in what looks like one hit.

Lastly, there are cheaters. Bad, bad cheaters. And this is a VAC game, so we're screwed.

I love the game, still. I'm having more FUN playing Homefront than I ever did while playing CoD. And I've spent so much time playing BFBC2 that I needed a change in scenery.
I hope when I come back in a year that the cheaters will be dealt with and the other issues have been minimized.

Does that mean you are ditching the game for now, because of these issues?
And back again in a year? Dont kid yourself, BF3 will own your soul at that time.

Haha, if it were anything below one I would have to say you were using god mode.

I just can't justify buying this game, all I'm hearing around the internet is:

                                - Prehistoric graphics not up to scratch with today's games
                                - Poolry balanced gameplay with even worse engine physics
                                - Cheaters running wild
                                - Mass multiplayer issues

And when people claim the game is even worse than MoH then you have to give it a long hard look. I was one of the people who bought FFoW on release day and had high hopes for the games. I loved the way it played although it had it's flaws. All these same flaws seem to be present years later in "FFoW 2" as people are calling it and I believe it will end up that way also.

This game is a no go for me, I won't fall for the same trap KAOS got me with last time.
