UAV killed all flanks and infiltration in BF2, if you keep it then either make it manual control like in BC2 or with a big cooldown. And no more eye in the sky.

And unconfirmed infos is unconfirmed, I wait to see the truth in march and even then they can still remove things before the release.

I hope there will be groups of squads that can be led by a battalion leader or something like that.

Bf2 UAV killed flanks? No way I never had a problem with flanking. Some people can lead a squad and some people just can't. Even in pubs I never had a problem flanking on the American side of karkand (I preferred American side just to flank) the only time it got tough is when too many idiots just sit on the hill throwing grenades. If you join up American side karkand and done rush you are a freaking homo.

I've seen more people complain about people flanking than not using UAV so tough luck on not having something similar (DO NOT ATTACK BACK FLAGS..ect)

Don't like UAV get your own server and enforce rules.

More like you were facing noob commander, because when there was a decent commander no one on the american side could flank undetected on Karkand, no matter if they go by the rail, rushing with the HMMW to the north etc. Plus the UAV had a too low cooldown, when the UAV effect ceased you just had to wait 5 secs to launch a new one. And it wasn't just UAV but also the "eye in the sky" manual spotting and the radar thing if you did missed to watch the obvious path to flank.

That, and the fact that if it weren't for the supernatural tendency for the MEC team to gravitate towards nade alley they could easy post a squad at each flanking route and at least slow any attempt to get past the front line. However, since all the revives and points are laying in the middle of the alleyway you're more likely to find the entire team between there and the Hotel flag instead of anywhere actually useful. Such is the nature of Karkand.

But on maps like Dalian or FuShe where there are ways to flank, typically if a lowly soldier got through the lines and is running through the forest trying to avoid the enemy patrols and vehicles, the commander would either UAV or just 'Enemy infantry spotted!' a dozen times so you were as good as dead. Of course, even if you made it to a flag uncontested you'd have arty raining down on you. That **** got kinda old.

Re: BF3 to be revealed on March 1

the UAV did pretty much kill any kind of gameplay that revolved around tactical infiltration (probably why some things were added in 2142 to aid this)

you would literally get behind and thin, yes we can finally get some flags and stop the meatgrinder (heaven forbid it was that ****eness that Karkand descended into)

and then whats that up in the sky, a ****ing revolving drone, at that point you knew that little ****er commander was looking down on you from his satellite scan and a horde of enemies was moving toward your position

let alone the odd car or artillery strike landing next to you lol

on a lot of maps you just had to abandon the finesse route, as that meant time, just get yourself somewhere as quickly as possible in whatever vehicle was available and then jump the hell out
