We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
If they can get the console players to ante up to this scam ( oh its only in your best interest.......yea right ) then what do you think they have in store for us PC gamers. Better start saving your buckaroos you might just need them to appease EA/DICE.
I would get your lip gloss out then because it wouldnt make sense not to do it to PC. The trend with games now is to make all platforms as close to the same as possible, especially DLC.
DICE have sold the PC market out and i refuse to follow them anymore. We cant be expected to put up with this crap.
I dont think its crap. I think sithdemon hit the nail on the head. We know they are going to do DLC. DICE said so themselves. They said they are going to try to make the maps free so the community is not split. That takes out a big section and incentive of DLC. So they have to get a bit creative. It would be different if this ends up like BF Heros where you can buy better guns than others, but most will rank up and get the same weapons.
There was also a discussion about how lower ranked players tend to be "outgunned" in this game until they get a few unlocks and higher in the ranks. I agree with this and some could overcome this handicap by doing this. Its not perfect and seems kinda crazy, but not everyone figures out a game that fast or are good at the games they play, but they love the game and do not want the frustration.
Imagine a level 3 having the AN94 or M60. That evens things up a bit and actually gives the newb a chance. Is this true in every case? No. Good players are good no matter the rank or perk or unlock and bad the same.

I can see your point, but in the end, if you have money, you can pay got get better guns quicker, and that is what makes it crap. And dont hold your breath, I'd say the odds are against Dice keeping that promise, especially since they stated they would "try", which kicks the whole thing over there for me.

Yeah, they may charge for maps and that would be BS. As of now though, they havent. Everyone is running around going on and on about greed, but its what they said they would do. They are doing what they said. No charge on maps or modes yet. BS would be charging for the modes. Charging for unlocks that you are going to get eventually just doesnt seem like a major issue.
If they charged on maps/modes or guns that are awesome that are not part of the game, then I would think that is BS. Charging for DLC, that they said they would, for weapons probably most of us already have just doesnt seem BS to me.
There are plenty of other things the other BF games have done that are more BS than this, thats for sure.
I agree with C' Crunch. The economy is bad and DICE needs to squeeze as many pennies out of consumers as possible.
In most sports games, one can pay to get best gears. I don't see any problem with paying to get some unlocks. Some of us paid early to get Limited Edition, which translate to the same thing. I would consider paying to get all unlocks for my second soldier.
After all, some of us indeed paid $10 for Northern Strike. Those motion mine bates are certainly essential, and not to mention how AR attach extension makes assault much more powerful.
While they've yet to release totally new maps, they said up front that they would be looking to get income from other ways so they could avoid charging for new maps and breaking up the community, this being a logical choice. For A lot of free to play MMO's they this exact same option.
But the MMOs supply the servers and an enormous amount of content when compared to a FPS. Trafitionally the popular FPS have had new content supplied from the community, but now the support for that has been cut to create more revenue for the developers.
It seems to me that we are getting less for more.

The question you should ask your self is which do you mind more, pay for new maps and potentially breaking up the community, or letting people get custom skins and pay for leveling?
To use the MMO analogy again, in most of them you will end up playing with people of similar levels. I am not goin to enjoy being up against a group of people with max level and equipment from day one. I fact I dumped BF:H when it became clear that you could buy an significant advantage despite all their promises.
A split communit is a problem, but the previous BF games seemed to do ok.
Also whats the difference if this never happend and down the road in 3 months, when everyone has unlocks for almost every class? Is the game crap then, when every one has the same equipment?
We all have the advantage now, and it's unfair to new players NO QUESTION. While it's still unfair for them to have to pay to get on the same level as us that have had the game from the start. If we call it unfair that some one that just got the game gets to have JUST the same equipment as us, once they pay and we just spent our time getting it for FREE, it makes no sense unless you just want easy kills on people that aren't as well armed as you.
If no one is getting better equipment, then it's a level playing field, and us that have had that game would normally still have the advantage of knowing the maps and understanding the game mechanics inside and out. Now the stages do change a decent bit during the battle so, memorizing a map isn't as much of a option, so it's just down to understand the mechanics better then a new player, and skill.
If you understand the game, and have any skill, you shouldn't need to worry about a weapon advantage, because you get your kills the same from a level 1 or a level 50.
