What is the bug? That scopes don't work on it?

Instead of iron sights, it has a build in Red Dot.
But the dot disappears in hardcore, just like the crosshair does for weapons that need them for aiming down the barrel. E.g. tracer and mounted MGs

That description fits me, but I have still managed to unlock everything in BC2. It is rather mild when compared to its predecessors.
Btw. they also sold you weapons in BF2 and BF2142, they were just better at hiding it. But as far as I remember, owners of SF and NS got two unlock points each time non-owners got one.

Best guns in BF2 were stock.
