I rotate my kits with different guns all the time, usually one for each class,(bolt,semi,mg,etc) and every time I get to the SVT I just play way better than I do with the Gewehr so I'm voting SVT FTW.

To be honest and back on topic before this becomes another HC vs. SC thread, I tried out all of these semi-autos and I was not impressed by any of them that much. I DID however rofl @ how strong and booming they made the M1A1 Carbine. :laugh: Play CoD2, then play CoD:WW and yeah...just a slight difference in power/sound.

Maybe it's b/c I play the War mode and I like to be very aggressive which is why I like my autos or even a bolt action as it's a 1 shot kill and if I don't get them, I attack so fast that I usually get tons of bayonet kills b/c they don't expect you to charge them with a bolt. I could see where in some other modes though, semi-autos might come more into play.

Agreed on both parts. Also I have COD2 and the M1A1 Carbine is not at all the same. Also have you ever fired a real one? Then an M1 Garand? The M1A1 has a recoil fairly similar to a 6.8 caliber rifle, and the M1 Garand is like an AK47 on steroids. I mean seriously one shot IRL with an M1 Garand and you're smoked. One shot with a Carbine and you might be a week in the hospital (exageration to show the difference in power, yet how strong it is in-game).

Also, the M1 Garand is the only rifle with a 0.125 second delay, the others are 0.08 second delay. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but I remember it was somewhere around double the time for the Garand.

Right so I've been doing some testing. I put Double Tap on the US M1 Garand and it fires just as fast as the other 3 semi-automatic rifles. The M1 Garand fires fast enough if you pull the trigger at precisely the right time. If you pull it too fast it won't fire and will seem like a 1.5 second delay, which is a huge delay in a combat situation. Right so you also don't want to pull it too slow. I've been playing with the rifle since the game was in beta so I know my way around it.

As for the 3 other rifles, I check and they do all fire at the same speed, according to some random Google site. Anyway, the M1 Garand surpasses them all in damage, so it makes up for it.

I don't know about you guys, but I don't play for stats. I can take an M1A1 Carbine and kick butt, but I sure feel better when I'm doing it, with an M1 Garand.

I find it funny when people talk about loving the M1 Garand in W@W and how awesome they are with it, but so far I haven't seen a single person who actually have decent K: D ratios. Every person I have seen using Semi-auto rifles who are doing very well, usually 2 : 1 or better K : D ratio are using either the SVT or G43. Some were using the Carbine and they had great scores as well but there are not as many since it requires rank 65. A couple weeks ago I played against some dude who was just unbelievable with the G43, he was not cheating. He was using it silences most of the time but he also used it with the reflex sight and telescopic sight. That gun is just awesome. I love the Garand in many other games, but not this one.

Now you have. I need to figure out Vegas 9 so I can make a video and prove it. Meanwhile SSs are all I can give.

Remember though, just because somebody is using a G43, doesn't mean they're score is because of it, you could get a good 5-6 kill streak with a good arty strike, and get dogs and have another 3-4 kills.

I haven't done any hard research on this but purely from a stand point of my own experience: I hardly ever see anyone using the M1. I frequently pick up dropped weapons to replace my pistol or my empty primary and I hardly ever find an M1 to pick up.

As far as littered weapons to pick up, I see the SVT the most. I dont know if its because of the default class or people prefer it.

If you just wanted to do an easy demonstration for us to see, remember that demo /record is now enabled in COD:WW since the 1.3 patch. The file sizes are small, so hosting/downloading won't be an issue. If you don't want it to be too long or to bother with editing, just do separate demo recordings for each round you play, then pick the "best" ones you'll think we want to see.

Instructions on demo recording are in the Media section as a sticky.

In hardcore, they are all the same tbh.

I just use whatever I feel like at the time.

If I wanna kill Japs, I'll take a bayonet M1.

If I just want to jump in and play, I'll do w/e.

Since I've started HC playing, all the rifles are the same :p

/random - I don't know why but I hate anybody who's ever on the "Enemy" side of any war that kills such young people who have there whole life ahead of them. Usually it's because of stupid politicians and "Tensions" between countries. Hence I hate Jap soldiers of the WW2 period, especially since they treated our POWs like dogs. Also nowadays we can't torture but if anybody from our side gets captured he gets the whole treatment, and then gets his head chopped off.

Hence I never never go Jap on US maps, being German vs Russian still is wierd. But anywho I know it's just a game. Just the SS that were twats and a half.

I thought FJ only worked on explosives like betties and grenades?

Personally, I like using stopping power with the rifles. They are very accurate to begin with and that gives them a little more umpff.

Now if the FJ works on other things, that might change some stuff.
