Gosh, this is a tough one between the M1A1 and the Garand.

I like the M1A1 for the lack of recoil and plentiful ammo, but I also like the Garand for the sheer power.

I'll have to go with the M1 Garand.

I kick a$$ with the M1 Garand, but you need to use it properly, and make proper use of tactics and cover for CQB, but that's where the bayonet comes in if you're a good zig-zagger. It's an amazing sniper with iron sights, two shot kill controled shots. Hey I'll make a vid of it!

I use the Carbine a lot, but I actually like the Gewehr better. It seems to have a very fast ROF and great accuracy.

All the semi-auto Rifles in the game have the same rate of fire except the M1 Garand (which is one of the many reason i hate it in this game, though i love it in many others). The M1A1 Carbine is actually the best rifle for weapon handling stats (though in real life it's nothing like the game portrays it).

Anyway. I voted for the G43 Gewehr for many reasons. It is only slightly less accurate and has slightly less damage than the M1A1 Carbine, but the iron-sights on it are far superior and the suppressor helps me keep a low profile when stocking people on hardcore servers. The flash suppressor for the M1A1 Carbine is only good for avoiding detection on someones radar but not their ears. I found the iron-sights on the M1A1 Carbine to be quite annoying unless i turned off depth of field in the console (r_dof_enable 0).

I tried the M1 Carbine, it doesn't feel at all like the real thing and it's the biggest piece of overpowered donkey-sh** I've ever seen.

I played with an M1 Gayrand :p in a HC server last night (my teammates suck, and they kept dropping them, I kept picking them up).

I got like... 49 - 6 with it.

first MP game in a long time, level 7 now ftw

Yeah well it makes up for any problems with it's awesome 1-shot-kill in HC.

i played CoD4 in stock mode, then went to HC with a clan, played that for AAGGESSSS and then started playing stock mode again when Promod came out :)

then, and now, Promod wins imo (y)
and these days i find HC easy as i just take an AK and spray like... well, like mad. (i couldn't think of anything to make a joke with)

To be honest and back on topic before this becomes another HC vs. SC thread, I tried out all of these semi-autos and I was not impressed by any of them that much. I DID however rofl @ how strong and booming they made the M1A1 Carbine. :laugh: Play CoD2, then play CoD:WW and yeah...just a slight difference in power/sound.

Maybe it's b/c I play the War mode and I like to be very aggressive which is why I like my autos or even a bolt action as it's a 1 shot kill and if I don't get them, I attack so fast that I usually get tons of bayonet kills b/c they don't expect you to charge them with a bolt. I could see where in some other modes though, semi-autos might come more into play.
