well imagine you liked servers setup on a certain gametype and in a standard way with standard server rules. Now imagine you wanted to play on one of those servers and you couldn't as you were banned from them all. Please tell me you can understand how that would be a problem for you?

I'd either adapt to a new gametype or start a clan/community and buy my own server. But that's not the case for you. There are many more than 17 servers that use stock settings for FFA or TDM.

Well, yes, it is your fault. You said you owned a server, right? Just say somebody was emptying your server because they were so much better than everybody, which would you prefer, provide equal rights to everybody by letting the player stay or prevent the player from scaring off other players by kicking or banning him?

Imagine if they did this in real sports like a football match, one player was doing really well scoring goals all the time and keeping the ball so all the players on the other side started whining to the referee that it wasn't fair and he should be banned from the match to keep them happy.....how retarded does that sound?

This is a video game, not a physical sport, the same rules don't apply because the circumstances are completely different.

i think you misinterpreted what i was orginally saying in my orginal post, anyway i know what you were saying and i never said i thought servers that don't allow dolphin diving or bunny hopping are bad so stop putting words in my mouth (see i can play that game too). I know that not everybody has the same preference as me and thats why i only go on servers that are in my preference

The difference between the "game" you're playing and the "game" that I'm playing is that where I said that you misinterpreted me, you went off talking about how servers have different rules, but I was talking about how not everybody agrees with you as to what makes a good server.

Of course i know all servers have different rules, regulation and game types and i find servers that match my prefered gametype and rules. I try my hardest to obey the server rules that i'm on but i still get banned for the secret unwritten rule of "no killing admin too much or you must be a cheater". Do you think that is a fair rule and that good well admined servers would have a secret unwritten rule like that?

You may not be able to moon bounce like in BF2 but jumping up in the air to avoid fire is still considered bunny hopping and again dolphin diving has become the name for anyone who jumps up and then goes prone. Both activities can be performed in CoD5.

Just because the can be done does not mean they should be done. Part of the attraction of this game and others like it is the immersion factor: antique firearms and historic locales help create that atmosphere. A bouncing US Marine hopping about from place to place ruins that atmosphere. Hence, many people's disdain for 'bunny hopping' and 'dolphin diving'.

Yes but it seems a lot of people complain about it like its as big of a thing as it was in BF2. I dont see a problem with anyone doing one jump, landing and slowing down and then moving to a prone position, i just shoot them :). This game isn't really supposed to be one of those ultra realistic immersive games that make you feel your in the war exactly how it was in reality. Its an adcade shooter that tries to balance fun with realism. i wouldn't complain about not being able to constantly bunny hop and dolphin dive on one of those realistic games so i dont see why people want to try and change this game into something its not.

yes there are more but it seems most are empty and at the time when i want to play a game the choice can be very limited. I just took a screenshot about an hour ago when i was going for a game to show you what choice i had for a TDM game.

First is the server list and second is my filters i'm using.

as you can see there isn't such a great choice as you make out. Red ones are not suitable due to high ping, too few or too many players. Green ones are what i've had a ban on. So that leaves "newbies of death" which is full and i dont think i've been on before, =gBs= which i *think* is a low health server and Deutshland=2009 which i have played on before and was good but i dont think any admins were on at the time.

Equal rights of course, i would never even dream of banning him just for playing well, if that made other players leave then that is there problem and they just need to grow up and learn and adapt. However i would swap sides and make sure i was against the player each round to balance things out, plus i would love a bit of a challenge for once :)

They are not really that different, esports are becoming more and more popular, even getting there own tv-shows where its just like watching a football game with all the drama and commentary they put into it. Both are games, and both games are won by the player or side with the most skill/teamwork. Banning either just for having skill is retarded. I'm amazed you dont agree with that.

yes opinions differ as to what makes a good and bad server and not everyone may agree with me, but with somethings its obvious and universal in what makes a good and bad server. Are you telling me that if you went on a server and you killed the admin once and so he kicked you for it...so you re-joined the server and asked why and he said "if you kill me i kick you"....so you swapped to his team and then jumped in the tank. He then bans you becasue he wanted the tank. Now would you agree with me that it was a bad server? i think everyone here would.

yeah i know its nothing new or special, i read many of them on the BF2 forums from people and while a lot of them were useless threads that didn't even say what happend or even the server details, quite a few did and helped me avoid some of the bad servers with bad reputations. Also if this was a one off thing then fine i'm not gonna start a thread about it, i'll just go on another server, But when it gets to the 17th time it really does get annoying and makes you want to try and do something about it.

Like i said before though anyone can tell by the thread title what this thread is going to be like. If they dont care about it then they dont have to click it and read it. The people trolling in it shows how much time and effort they like to spend doing even more useless things :)

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you but you will soon learn that the people of TGN and TBF in particular are not very forgiving when it comes to something of little intrest to them.

The only thing I can suggest is follow ALL server rules no matter how lame and stupid they may be if you want to avoid getting kicked. You have to remember these people pay for these servers and can do whatever they want. Why not start your own TDM server? Like you said there isn't an abundance of them so getting traffic shouldn't be too much of a problem and that way you can do whatever the **** you want and when you get someone giving you grief over your playing style you can boot their *** out!


If you don't want to do either then sorry but you're ****** :)

Sitting here trolling eachother over what is right and wrong isn't going to work as it's a matter of opinion when it comes to server rules.

Thats the thing though...i do follow all the server rules but i still get banned and if a decent admin were to give a warning saying "we have a no jump rule on this server" then i leave the server to respect there rules as them giving a warning about something is good admining. My clan does have its own server but the problem with getting traffic is mainly the cod5 player amount. If i set the "view empty" filter to yes, my list would show hundreds of empty TDM servers.

So like you say i guess i am ****** heh

Also the thing i find funny is the people of TGN and TBF that like to troll threads they have little interest in are actually helping to keep the thread bumped up to the top of the list. Best thing they could do is ignore the thread they have little interest in and let it die heh....oh well, they can keep posting stupid things if they want....sure doesn't bother me :)
