Hmmmm, I'm thinking about getting it. My only problem is I'm terribly bad at the land battle in the demo.

As you figure out what the units strengths and weaknesses are you tend to get a lot better.

Even though the game has a multiplayer, the AI is really good and most people play against it anyway, so its OK if you have to try a few times

It couldn't hurt to play Multiplayer just once though. You get some Steam Achievements just for that.

Went and bought it, installing now

And I've always been decent in the other Total War games, so I figured it was because I didn't have a clue what most of the units were supposed to be used for.

am in the 1870s now! And am organising a mass assault on Spain (think 5 stacks plus lol) even shipped over my armies from America that I no longer need there because I have conquere the entire place

my elite army, Royal Gaurds, Coldstream Gaurds and the Black watch etc are going through the Ottomans in the Holy Land

and in India I have destroyed the Marathas (soon will attack the Mughals) you get some awesome units like East India line infantry but my favourite have to be Sepoys, the native Indian units; I rely on them above all others

mwhehehe, I quite like puckle guns, but I don't think they shall replace my love of Howitzers, that and I worked out a way to crash the game with the puckle gun formation lol

im currently in 1761 and i have an army of 2 light infantry and the rest guards infantry, in a fleet of all light ships but if i try to move it the game crashes :cry:

but other than that its going great, going to eradicate the french and take over all of Europe apart from the Russians(A. because i dont want to be dragged out into a long war, and B. im not suicidal.)

I'm getting consistent CTDs when I select my navies.... and I'm Britain! I need mah navies!

Plus it takes forever after I click the end turn button to go to the next turn.

This game looks awesome but my PC can't support it. Shame too because this is the type of game my brother would love too.

I'm so so so tempted. I loved the original shogun, play it a bunch. Bought Medieval II played it a little bit but didn't fall in love the same way. Not sure I want to drop like £30 on it and not dig it.

press space bar increases turn speed lol

Took Gibraltar, so now only need the 2 regions in Northern India for my victory conditions to be met

had an epic battle to take Madrid as well, star forts are fun for howitzers

only need to take Lisbon and those dam Spanish are no more; already the French are giving me hassle on land though

Ive crushed most of eastern and central europe as prussia the ottomans are paying my 500 a turn for me to stay out of the war they have with russia

my fleet of steamships and first and third rates are moving to america im going to land in mexico and conquer new spain

france hates me and looks as if they will start a war with me within the next five years but my armies are waiting in hannover for that

I started a small campaign as Russia. The land mass is so HUGE it takes forever to get armies to the front lines. For some reason I am getting a lot of hostility with the Ottomans. Ive destroyed two minor nations and am eyeing Sweden, but they just opened up trade agreements with me and have changed from unfriendly to indifferent. So I might go for the Ottomans instead. Not sure yet. I need to look at my borders a bit better.

I took Lisbon, but the Spanish have regions in Italy , although one less now because Naples and Sicily emerged as a faction

paid France and Spanish 50k each for a ceasefire, I saw no need to continue the war until I had wrapped things up in India and formulated a new plan for a mass invasion of Europe

only need one more territory in India and I have met my victory conditions, but lately my gains in India have been very risky, theres a lot of Mughals running around lol

Well, those Ottomans decided to pirate my shipping line :rawr

They want war, they got it. I sent two full army divisions down there to finish them off. Ive tried to be nice. I think I will sack Constantinople just for fun. Swing around and take Georgia while I am at it.

EDIT: After realising that the Ottos are not on my strike list and time is running out, I decreed peace and they give me 1000 anually to keep it that way. They agreed and now I move my forces to Sweden. :evil:
