Haha right, that is until you're the one getting the boot from the admin for redlining.

Not a bad idea, if you want it, go play in some mods, Their are far too amazing pilots and or gunners, even pilots who can solo, If you added AA, it would be a disaster.

I don't think it's a good idea. In the POE2 mod the choppers have AA missiles, and I took one and a half minute to shoot down my first jet there with a chopper, so it's too easy.

Instead of that I would be glad with a radar that would show the incoming jets. It would be a really big help against jets if the chopper pilot would always be aware of the fact that a jet is heading to him even if it is in bomb mode.

And I think that 2 hits from an IGLA should destroy jets everytime. It's nonsense that you got hit by 2 missiles and the jet don't even start to burn. I think it would be a fair weakening and it would reduce the jets dominance by a fair rate.

This, choppers don´t need to kill the jets, thats what aa and jets are for, choppers are already good ground pounders, although the flips and tv missiles are just silly used anti air.

Your right, choppers don't NEED to kill the jets. But what happens when all the jets are either not taken or used by complete imbeciles who started Bf2 3 days ago. This games learning curve is fairly moderate for the average ground pounder. Once you get in something that flies, you better know what/who/where or your just useless to your team. <--Basically, learn how to fly in single player.

Of course, single player mode is only good for practicing things like aim and basic maneuvering. Far more important than those basic skills is situational awareness, which, unfortunately, can only be acquired through extensive online play. The learning process for situational awareness is a painful one, particularly for those who are already competent and must suffer as a result of the incompetence of those who are still learning.

Dude, it's been over three years... when will we accept that some people just don't f*cking learn at all?

The "argument" that we should give people a chance may have been valid in the game's infancy... but now we're well past adulthood. It's no longer true that everybody should be given time to learn.

If they haven't done so by now, they're f*cking hopeless. TK away, friends...

Situational awareness...That's french to the amount of people I've seen completely disregard my spots and chat shouts only to continue along their straight path of flight hoping someone gets directly in front of us. What I'm talking about is basic listening to your gunner/pilot and at least making the slightest effort to respond. I think that even in single player the bots spot tanks and such so once they respond to bots, then maybe they can click that Multiplayer tab.

LoL, My fault I was slightly intoxicated, what I meant to say is, It is not a bad Idea, which is why some mods have it, in Vanilla BF2, Their are a good amount of extremely great pilots and gunners, it would be a disaster to add AA to the choppers in VBF2 and would completely ruin the Chopper to Chopper combat.

True, true. I think trips to the optometrist and audiologist would be of greater help to players like that.

Hey guys if you really want AA's on choppers you should all come check out the 21st Century Warfare Tournament. We have our own modification, that includes the Cobra and Z-10 with a rail of 14 hydras that shoot automatic, and 2 secondary AA missle's that lock on to Planes and Choppers. The choppers are also modded to be more agile and they are faster. We make an effort for our map team to put PICK UP STINGER KITS on the flags that do no have an AA site. We also have many other impliments such as HEAT AND SABOT rounds for the tanks. You can sign up for the Tournament and download this cool mod at www.totalgamingnetwork.com/21cw.php
