What if choppers had AA missiles?

Wouldn't it be nice if the pilot had AA missiles as secondary weapon?
As to the amount, 12 (3x4) missiles like the AA vehicles would be a bit too much, 4 (1x4) like bomber jets is too little because it takes longer for a chopper to rearm. 8 (2x4) seems fair enough. With AA, I could see several things happening:

1. A pilot no longer needs to worry (as much) about having a crappy gunner.
2. Jets would think twice before engaging choppers.
3. People would be more encouraged to fly instead of gun all the time.

The only negative side I see in this is that chopper vs. chopper wouldn't be as fun.
Yeah, they are never gonna do it. But it would be nice if they did.

We have AA missles on the attack helos at 21CW (<---click) Feel free to come on over and check us out. The AA missles on the helos were a great addition to our mod and has really worked out nice during battles.

Once your at the point where you realize that you don't need AA missiles on your chopper to take out jets, that's when you truly have mastered the helicopter.

Once your at the point where you realize that you don't need AA missiles on your chopper to take out jets, that's when you truly have mastered the helicopter.

Of course I don't NEED AA missiles to take out the jets, but using the TV requires a good pilot and/or gunner and when you are on pubs this will hardly happen. And jets will still have the edge. I am a beginner at jets, and choppers are easy prey on bomber mode.

I takes (comparatively) little skill to down a chopper with jets, but it's different the other way around.

Not true because it depends alot of the re-activeness on the heli pilot and simply his piloting ability.

I agree with that. If the Heli pilot can maneuver and get out of sight (hiding behind a hill or flying low) it will take more skill for the jet pilot to destroy him.
But if the heli pilot is out in the middle of nowhere sitting still....

I'll agree with that, but still you have very little time to react, and even if you do, you will be smoking if you make out of it alive. All the jet pilot needs now is a second run. If you fly low or hide and you are playing on a full 64 chances are something on the ground or the enemy chopper will shoot you down.

And again, I've only played so far with a handful of pilots who can consistently evade jets. When you are pubbing, chances are you will NOT be flying with a good pilot. And yes, I am flying and gunning for random people. It is frustrating often times.

I don't think there's an imbalance, but maybe my point of view is skewed because I only fly with friends who I know are competent. Still, I see no need for it.

And it would ruin Helo v Helo combat.

I would find it would be pointless, you can take out planes with hellfires if timed correctly. Like Skag said it would ruin Helo combat...
Theres just no need for Helos at have AA missiles..
