one thing i just noticed today that i've never seen in any other game - working, realistic doppler effects on sounds!

the people at Dice deserve some kind of award for this game. i wish more people knew about it

So True. I think the sound design/engine in this game is really good in every way.

I wonder how many people out there play this game with some crappy desktop or monitor mounted speakers and throw hackusations against people who take advantage of the directional sound clues and always seem to "magically guess right away where the enemy is shooting from" etc.

Reinstalling 2142 again...I just realized how horrible Battlefield 2 is.

You guys should be happy that Dolphin Diving was replaced by more ingenious if more annoying tactics like roofing.

eh its a tossup between this game and CoD4. One thing i dont like about this game is there is some glitchyness and then since my left pinky finger is a bit dislocated i dont really prefer having to hold the shift key it makes my finger go numb after a while. there are good and bad points to both games.

not to be snarky but couldn't you just rebind sprint to another key or even a mouse button?

speaking of which here's some of my rebinds:
Y = all chat
T = team chat
U = squad chat
i like these 3 this way because it's easy to remember, left to right = smaller group

mouse wheel = shields on vehicles. i used to use left bracket but since changing to the mouse i'm way better at shielding fast

left mouse button aka Back button = crouch, i rarely use crouch but when i need it i usually need to hold it down (e.g. to get past mines) and the mouse button makes it easy

well idk where else i would bind it and still have a good control setup. i just wish they gave you the option to simply tap the shift key for sustained sprint like in cod4

I rebound all my keys one key to the right. It gives me more room so my left hand doesn't feel all cramped. e.g., instead of wasd I have esdf for movement, w for commo rose, and a for enter/exit vehicle with most other keys set for default.

He probably has largish hands and using WASD his pinky has just barely touches the shift key, forcing him to keep it pushed up against the ring finger. Happens to me a bit.

What about BF2, well BF2 (in it's current over patched and restricted state) I wouldn't have in my top 50!

you do know if you double tap w you don't have to hold shift right ?

For me 2142 is the best mp-fps so far, trying to get my fix at least once a day.

I like the interaction of vehicles and infantry in 2142; it creates endless possibilities.

The Titan theme is absolutely new in the gaming world. Titan and ingame designs of maps and weapons is what kept the game well going for 3 years running.
