It's the same as buying BF2, editing your files to make you a 4 star general and then claiming, it's fine, everyone will be the same rank sooner or later.

You can't escape the fact you've cheated. You've edited files to gain an advantage over other players in a server and you should be ashamed. You and the other people involved in this scam

Fun server ain't it? I think it is the best CTF server I have found. You got any other good ones? This one just emptied out..though it is after 1:30 AM lol. Got to level 23 tonight on the new account. Shall continue tomorrow. Aiming for Level 35 ^_^

Well, here is an interesting question for the fellow BFE participants, and this is posted now in the TotalCOD section for regular players to read and judge us as well.

This dude IM's me today on XFIRE stating that he was going to be removed from BFE for "Hacking", and that I too was a "Hacker" along with about 6 other people. First, before we continue, lets throw out some names of who these "Hackers" are...

-Steele ... Steele?! OMFG ... Steele hacking, roflmao :laugh:

It seems in light of some people not liking Dark, they decided to take the fact that we are all level 65 into account as "Hacking".

So lets get the facts straight.

We never hacked, especially because the last time I hacked in a game was 9 years ago. Steele is a complete drunk and doesn't even know what 2+2= half of the time he's online and Castle isn't even in BFE (yet).

We (Not including NewYork, not sure how he did it) simply got MPData for Level 65 and replaced our profiles with it. People claimed that this was "Hacking" in PB Enabled servers, all the while we were gaming along with other level 65 players who got there by having no life.:shakehead: The games stat system is used to unlock higher weapons, however, due to the online play where there may be Level 2 players against Level 65 players, all the weapons are designed to have Pro's and Con's so they are all roughly even and fair throughout the gameplay.

Due to us Pubbing in Our Server and a few other servers that the admins have all come out and said on their "No Hacks Allowed" Servers that we ARE allowed to play there signifies that by no way we are hindering anybodies game play. People enjoy the ability to pick up our weapons when we die. Our skill level was not altered in any way shape or form by putting this MPData as our own, it simply unlocked all the weapons. Is that a crime? Quite possibly in BF2 because the sole purpose of playing online in ranked servers in Battlefield 2 would be to rank up and spend 1000+ hours doing so to achieve the highest rank. Doing so in Call of Duty 4, which Level 65 has been obtained legitimately within only 3 days by many gamers is not the sole purpose of the game, it is nothing more but an "Extra" put in by InfinityWard, and now Treyarch for people to want to play more.

So, a few people, I won't say names, decided to post in the officers board crying that we are hackers and have broken all the rules. Why not let the public hear this story and make their own concensus? We decided against working for level 65, although I was already half way there when I had done so, and would have been at level 65 probably by yesterday if I had actually earned it.

This as well, does not affect us in BFE at all. BFE uses a mod where everyones rank is set the same, we do not get perks, unlocks..etc that others will not be able to get once BFE moves in COD:WW. My clan member who did not use the data is at level 65 and he has enjoyed the competition against the "higher level" guns. Quite franquely though, he still owned us regardless.

Most of our time gaming was in Zombies, we did not want to waste time online when we only really wanted to play Zombies since the game has come out.

So let me ask all of you, is getting ahead of the rest by 3 days really hacking? Or is it just being unsportsmanlike pricks? Should we all be stripped of our honor in BFE because while we pub as a clan, we all want to be level 65? Is it a crime that the 2-3 servers we play in where we are allowed to play in, we sport such a rank?

Lets see what the public says. And with that, I will be bringing this right to the MyIS staff I worked with as a TotalCOD Director so they can hear our story, and not just the "Taddle-Tales" and see what they have to say about this. The sole thought some are using this as a low blow tactic to remove Dark from DO because he is a verbal DO who actually enjoys playing is appauling, and shows how childish some people are. (And, you people know who you are. :thumbsup:)

theres really no reward for being good other than being satisfied with yourself so you can do something else

Well, I understand on all standings of what people say, for those who try to earn it and spend their valuable time wasting their life on the game trying to rank up, than yes, it would be annoying to read somebody did it in 30 seconds. I can respect that, as I am one of those people who do "waste their life away" playing games countless hours tohave stats shown for it.

Now, I did not think I was going to use the account long, just isn't in me to get by improperly but my main standpoint was in regards to Battle for Europe. To be removed from a friendly tournament that uses a Mod and isn't ranked due to whatever you do in public games just doesn't seem right to me. (As long as you don't "HACK", you should be fine) and I knew this post wouldn't last long on the BFE board so I asked it here.

Many of you I game with, one of which is Whiskey. I enjoy the presence of this forum and felt absolutely fine with coming out saying I skipped a few levels. (Something like 27 to be exact lol). But, yeah, that's that. Thank you all for your feedback.

So let me get this straight, this time around mpdata is not locket to your key and account name, so it can just be shared among friends...classic!

I'm not 100% sure for CoD:WAW, but this is how it worked in CoD4: You change your CD-Key in-game or via registry, overwrite your old mpdata with the lvl 55 one, then change your CD-key back to your original.

Before I talk about my position on this matter, I would like to state the following: I got to the max level in CoD4 legitimately, and I plan to do the same with WAW because that's part of the multiplayer that I enjoy. But, since prestige unlocks extra class slots, I will probably cheat to go from level 65 prestige 0 => level 65 prestige 10. IMO you should, by default, be able to change your weapon/perks to whatever you want in-game (like with mods), and increasing the number of custom classes is the next best way to achieve this. Hopefully by the time I get to that point (I'm only level 28 now) there will be a lot of players that have gotten to high prestige levels normally, and people will just think I have no life. :laugh:

I don't think cheating to get to level 65 gives you enough of an unfair advantage to warrant being called a "hacker" or being kicked/banned from a server. While the lower level guns/perks* aren't as balanced with the higher ones in WAW as those in CoD4, they still don't prevent a player from performing as well as he or she would with a high level gun/perk by more than a small margin (esp. in hardcore). I've played against several people with lvl 65/prestige 10 already, and it's not as if they've been given the ray gun.

* I assume "lower level guns/perks" to be those obtained within the first 2-3 hours of gameplay.

There are many of ways for people to legitimately gain advantages, such as adjusting their graphics so as to have constant high FPS, shorter draw distances of foliage, higher brightness, wider FOV, etc. I would argue that these give a player a greater advantage than level 65 does; however, they are not considered cheats.

Let's take for example 3 people A, B, and C. They all have the exact same computer, peripherals, and skill level.
A: Only uses settings available in the GUI of the game, but optimizes them for a gain in FPS limited to 85 or whatever the game defaults the cap; does not modify or use another person's lvl 65 mpdata.
B: Modifies config settings to gain an advantage graphically with constant 125 FPS, 80 degree fov, etc.; does not modify or use another person's lvl 65 mpdata.
C: Graphics same as A; modifies mpdata to be lvl 65 with all unlocks.

I would rank their subsequent performance as B > C > A. Even though C cheated, B has an even greater advantage over A. Why is C called a cheater then, and B not? Is it because modifying the mpdata file is in some way worse than modifying the config file? It seems obvious to me Treyarch did not intend either file to be altered, as they placed them under a "hidden" folder outside of the installation directory. Should we call B a cheater as well? I don't know. It depends on whether or not you consider a config modification as described above to be a cheat.

What about a person D that uses /clanName to make their name appear green to enemies? Most people would consider this to be a cheat because it gives you a clear (and probably greater) advantage than graphics or rank modifications.

Consequently, I think it simply depends on your personal ranking of the "badness" of altering game files and the degree to which they give the player an advantage.

I can't say I am sorry for what I did, but I do regret putting it over my account when I did. Creating another account is disappointing, but at the same time I am going to focus more on K/D Ratio than just points. Most people play CTF, War..etc for more Exp. Points, I was one of them.

Think now I will just stick with TDM (I like it the best) and use what I have.

-The FG42 reloads too often
-The PPSH takes quite a bit to kill
-The Browning is worse than the MG42
-I already had the MG42 unlocked previously
-The Kar98, I was 3 ranks away but yes, I do love this gun
-I hate the Flamethrower
-I use Bandoleer only

And that's about it. Not really ever used the unlocked weapons beyond what I was, I just did it to, well, be a follower and have Prestige 10, not for the unlocks, not to look better than somebody.

hmm...that's interesting, then how did he just get a mpdata?

The only other way I know how to edit you mpdata requires a special editing program which can only be gotten from certain unmentionable (at least here) websites or a tool that overwrites you mpdata while the game is running in real time, something PB will be picking off and neither method I trust the ppl writing the programs. Learned a long time ago hackers only care about number one, your risking your key with either of these methods, ban or stolen. And by the way he makes it sound he just acquired a mpdata file from somewhere or someone, almost sounded like he got it from some of his lvl 65 clan mates, but after re reading it.
