Maybe bacause your post was 5th repost and you was disrespectful to the PR team? MODs were getting pretty pissed because they had to close every second thread.

From what I've heard, there's already torrents out.

Edit: It seems like the devs decided to let FP have a 1-day exclusivity so they could get it featured on the front page of FP. I guess now will be a great time to act like a smacktard in PR and no one will pay too much attention to you.

Isn't the whole point of making a mod to improve gameplay, attract players, and create a fanbase? From what I see, the current scenario is quite similar to those stupid beta's FP has - they let the people who pay get it quicker, even when those who paid aren't necessarily the target market.

All that this will do is draw in more smacktards who don't know much about PR - but are intrigued because of the FP exclusive, just like the betas. Like Xodus said, those who will be playing PR for weeks, and who have awaited .8's release, should be those who are catered to, and should be offered the right to download it on release day regardless. It shouldn't be up to whethere you're willing to pay or wait in line - fans have waited long enough, and now all you do is shove it back in their faces with even more bullsh!t.

Honestly, release days for popular mods are a sight to behold, but having it released and having to wait in a damn line for multiple hours is utterly ridiculous. And, quite honestly, if the only reason behind the decision was to attract more people, you should have done a much better job with the promotional.

From what I've read, the sole reason Project Reality's development team gave FilePlanet a 24 hour exclusive was to gain some real estate on FilePlanet's main page. No money transferred hands.


I assure you, right when that 24 hour mark comes, the files will be available on ALL TGF servers for immediate download. Believe me, I don't like waiting in an hour long line more than the next guy, especially since it'll take me a good 5-6 hours to get the entire thing downloaded.

Fileplanet gets to host the PR exclusively for 24 hours, FP gets more traffic and ad revenue in exchange for PR being on the frontpage.
