Joystick (3D Pro) for Planes, Mouse and keyboard for helicopters.
It's the way it's always been for me.

Ideally, a joystick for jets and mouse/kb for helicopters. Nevermind the reasons why, just trust our judgement and reasons for this.

^^ agreed. I use a joystick for both, but if I had to do it all over again, I would use m/k for helo's in BF2. there are a few advantages.

Thanks for all your opinions, I am probably going to pick up a joystick. Ive heard that the extreme 3d pro and freedom 2.4 , any recommendations on which to get?

edit: i think im going to either buy the freedom or 3d pro, whats the difference between a EXTREME 3d pro and FORCE 3d pro. it looks about the same. And 10 buttons is enough right?

i like the 3d.. its not to expenssive and a really nice joystick.. it looks good too :)

I think the FORCE is just the same, just with added force-feedback. Which isn't used in BF2 anyway. Unless you're using it for another game that supports force-feedback, it's a complete waste of cash.

Go with the 3D Pro :).
