Joystick or mouse and keyboard

I started to play battlefield again and I thought it would be fun to fly jets and helicopters instead of just battling it out on the fields. I was wondering if having joysticks will improve flying or is keyboard and mouse enough. I heard joysticks have defects but they're useful. I just want some opinions from you guys.

I personally prefer the joystick when operating both planes and helicopters, however I have heard that some people have had great success with the K&M when flying choppers. I suppose it comes down to personal preference.

All Keyboard ...whatever works for you, and get used to it.

For me: M&K for heli
joystick for aircraft.

btw, Logitech Extreme 3D pro is great for BF2.

i agree the Loitech 3D pro is really good and not too expensive i dont think.. we paid $40 for ours... and yeah its alot easier using joystick i find...i also use my xbox360 control :)

lol nah, depend what your used to, alot say joystick the other half say mouse and keyboard, also depends what your doing in the game, personally an infantry fight would be best with a mouse and keyboard... flying a jet maybe would be better with the joystick, all depends.

Ideally, a joystick for jets and mouse/kb for helicopters. Nevermind the reasons why, just trust our judgement and reasons for this.

i use M&K and find it better than joystick but it comes down to preference really

Mouse/keyboard and joystick are just as effective, up until a limit.

When you become skilful and piloting, you will find yourself limited by the precision of keyboard/mouse, and then joystick is a better choice.

The best pilots usually use joysticks.

Like if somebody is asking for dietary advice: "vegetables or ice cream?" you wouldn't say "use both, see what you prefer!!!".




Aaaanyway, I use Mouse/Keyboard for helis, and Joystick/Keyboard for planes. Joystick is obviously superior when in a plane, for overall movement and flexibility, and as for helis, well it just doesn't make sense to me to use a joystick.
