To keep this process as simple as possible, the additional admin has to be from TGN and has to be approved by the majority of the people who pay for the server. This way, the process of getting admin coverage is kept simplistic and reliable in terms of selecting out the ones who arent fit for the job.
Yup, I can see that working.

Language filters fvcking suck! The end. When Id get my buddies over, and we make a private squad, the last thing Id like, is getting kicked for a joke.

The worst lingual abuses are racial slurs. Ban the words like "n'gger" and all of its variations. Aswell as those used against middle eastern people.
That's what I meant by lenient, racist terms shouldn't be acceptable. Anything else is fair game in my opinion.

Also, consider 32 player map selection for air maps like Oman and Dalian to pack the action in. 32 player Oman is one of the most optimal map in BF2. Im, however, not familiar with how the tickets get distributed. Do they depend on map sizes or the player count?
I think it's determined by the map sizes, although how it varies between 32 and 64 I don't know. I haven't played it in a long time but I think Oman 32 only has one jet per team.

Which is good in some respects as it gives groundpounders (like you said, the majority) a place to run around without being flattened by some 500 lb. bombs every 15 seconds.

2 is too low, 3 is better, 4 is awesome. Consider people who load in slow and dont want to reload every 30 minutes.
This is the kind of thing that can get changed once the server is running. If we decide on a 4 rounds per map system, and it ends up being too long, then we could easily move it down to 3.

Ok, I've just been told by Alex that this was tried in the past and it failed horribly with the whole "Donators have all the say" idea. While it is good in concept, it appeared to have been bad in execution. So, here's my thought (and probably how it needs to be if it's going to be affiliated with TBF2 or TGN)

1.) The donators council will still exist. Those who contribute will earn 1 vote for deciding on map rotation and general rules.
2.) A member of the TGN staff will sit as the chairperson of said council to represent the interest of TGN. Most likely, it'd be to break up disputes, should they occur.

A brief interlude before I get to the next couple of points. I think that those who would contribute at this stage would not be bad administrators. However, I am concerned about down the line if people were to learn, "Oh hey, I can donate XYZ amount and get uberadmin!" We wouldn't figure that out until it was too late and they had already done something dumb on the server.

3.) I say we still elect the lower level admins, with very, very restricted powers. If you don't donate, you get stuck with virtually nothing. If you do donate, and you prove yourself to be competent as an administrator, then we'll give you full access. Donators will be immediately, if they meet the amount, given access to the council, but those on the council may or may not have admin. Essentially, it's more of a "Pay for a Say" instead of "Pay for Admin." As for who will make the decision as to give them full admin, I say let the council vote on it.
4.) Set a price for reserved slots.
5.) I agree with Chris about language issues.

In that case, I nominate myself for admin, and I will touch myself when this server shows up on the server list.

I'll touch myself for a long time.

I'm a good admin. Did it before and I can do it again...

I don't even need full rights. Just !w and !k will suffice.

I can see that happening, but can you not restrict someones rights to just warnings and kicks? Get the donator the basic rights, and based on their profile on the forums and choices on the server, go from there?

4.) Set a price for reserved slots.
With 32 players, reserved slots are evil. Instead, kick to make room for members. Start with the lowest scorers/highest pingers.

Ya srsly, If its a server for TGN, TGN members should be allowed to get on fast and easily.

Please don't have less than 4 rounds per map. When I had my old computer I was always turned away from servers that had less than 4 rounds per map.

I'm usually the first one on the server after it loads a new map and it takes a while for all 63 other people or so to come in.

You'd be surprised how many people play BF2 at low settings because they have to.

TBH I think we have more than enough money pooled for a 48 or even 64 slot server.. I mean I would be willing to donate maybe even $20/month if I liked the server rules/maps/ping (which I know I will), if we upgraded to a higher amount of slots.

IMO, I think 48 slot is perfect but that's just me. Not completely full and retarded like some 64 slots, and not sometimes empty feeling like 32's (32 is my favorite, unless I see a 48). And with those 48 slots, then add in reserved slots if necessary.

I don't know, I've never really gave my opinion on server ideas because I've always just had admin and helped regulate things.

I agree with the 3-4 rounds per map (I myself have a ****ty computer).

I can guarantee a TGN server would be populated all the time. Just the members alone from TGN would probably keep it populated, let alone all the friends we have that pub etc.

I wonder if MyIS would give us a discounted server, so we donate, but only a little bit.

We choose like 5 responsible representatives from the community and put them forward, as admins and see how it goes.

Its all fine and well replying to each others posts but playing in the server feels more personal and intimate. There are quite a few people on this forum, I'd like to be intimate with (Hawkers, Webs etc.) but also those whose faces i'd like to run over with a tank (Seoulspirit, dtneter and chain).

Hell, combine it with the TBF2 clan, and have them run it.
