    TBF2 Server.

    What about it?

    A server:
    • Where we could play without getting kicked for BS rules,
    • That we could use for future scrims against other sites,
    • Where we could all play together!

MyIS have servers for $0.95 per player slot per month, which is cheapest I could find.

Let us know if you'd be interested in something like this.

That's quite alright, I rather not invest money in something only to get in game and get the ban due to some forum related grudge.

Get a 32-player airmaps server that allows soloing (at the very least, when no one else wishes to hop in) and I'll cover 20% of the total costs.

                hmm..

That would be pretty cool, but what kind of server would it be? I would be willing to pay too.

Perhaps 4 rounds per map for the people who don't want to have to load maps every 30 minutes.

Dalian, Oman, Sharqi (for the chopper nuts like Sloi ), Kark (with vehicles) for the infantry players, maybe a round of Mashtuur as well.

Another big question is this. Who will have admin, how do we decide who those people are, and what rules do we choose to enforce? The plan to get a server is good, but we need to have these logistics worked out ahead of time for this to work.

It will probably be in Europe, so I probably won't care.

maybe MYis will pay for the server (well its their own server) cuz itll prob attract more people to the forums.

I would imagine the majority of people on this forum would want that setup.

Personally, I think those who contribute should get BF2cc access and a say on how the server is run. Other members who are deemed to be mature can get rcon (ingame) admin to enforce simple rules. But this is all up for debate, all opinions are welcome.

Looking at prices for servers, It will probably end up being US.
A server in the US is half the price of a server in the UK.

An east coast server with a <120 ping for us euro's would be optimal I think.

That would be very, very nice of them. If we put a little advertisement in the scrolling rules and the server name, who knows?

<120 is not optimal, <50 is

I was talking about price/ping. As I said, servers are much cheaper in the US.

For me, anything under 140 has been playable. May be different for some people of course.
