Played BF2142 for 8 months (230 hours) and got my BG rank. After that it lost its challenge, especially after playing CoD4 which game engine is centuries ahead of BF2142. I've never had a crash in CoD4, while going back to BF2142, it crashed twice in the first two games.

When I go back to BF2142 I go to the knife servers just for the fun, I don't care anymore for being reset. Never played BF2, but I might try it once.

TF2 is an absolute fun fragfest, but like CoD4, is getting boring after 2-3 hours playing, which I never had in the past with BF2142, I could play that for 4-6 hours without being bored.

PS tried the FFOW beta, it's an absolute horror, never buy that game in my life, the game engine is even worse than BF2142.

You know, it was okay. I found myself playing Engie and Support a lot so I didn't use it more than a few minutes while being owned by a Walker.

My first couple of rounds were horrible... but it didn't take long to get back into the swing of things.

I played Tampa Conquest last night with my FPS buds and it was quite a lot of fun. Well, it was fun while I wasn't being owned by air, but it was still fun. :salute:

I've been having fun in BF2, too!

2142 has sway yes, but its pathetic, i can easily steady the scope on some ones head while they are moving without the stupid stabiliser add-on.

sniping in 2142 is a matter of, stock + clays + rdx, active cammo and stabiliser are for people who cannot get to a good position or control the weapon, or are trying to get knife kills.

(also i was mainly referring to bf2, where there was less then an acog has on cod4)

So many people hate on the stabilizer, yet so many enemy snipers die at my hands thanks to it. It takes more time to aim when you either wait for it to move or have to keep aiming up or down farther to compensate. Faster shots > silly explosives. If you're sniping, why would you need anti-vehicle RDX? And no need for clays, simply don't be found by actually getting a good spot or moving a lot with active camo helping you. Ghost is just personal preference.

            Exactly...

It's perfect tool for counter sniper..

I personally had stabilizer and claymores in my kit, along with Zeller...

Claymores were awesome when making traps for Vossers/knifers...

And Zeller... What would be more fun than blowing up motion mines to engineers face. Or shoot motion mines and either get tk for the engineer who planted them or blow up enemy APC with their own motion mines...

You don't notice the sway at all unless your taking ages to take a shot

@rdx comment, lol rdx is just awesome against infantry.....

As much as people rant against the "Cone of Fire," it's one of the things that makes BF such a great series. No really, it's an equalizer. CoD4 highlights individual player skill and rewards it. BF is more about team tactics and combined arms. The "Cone of Fire" prevents HC CSS type players from overly dominating and makes the game more accessible to weekend warriors. We were all HC haxor at one point, but as you get older and start having a real social life, you can't spend all day pwning n00bs.

I'm greatly enjoying my time with CoD4 even though my KDR isn't quite as good as it was in BF. People with better reflexes deserve their due. Please just don't compare both series as apples-to-apples and then lament how they don't stack up. Understand the target audience and how the game mechanic's work and play accordingly.

Just had a few games and the Baur felt AWESOME!

The only problem i had was that i have got into the nature of going instant prone and doing that in BF2142 is a death warrant.

I did notice though the mouse sensitivity was wack?

the zeller is just terrible, 99% wear body armour so its only advantage is gone, also how many times can you say you have killed an engie or someone by shooting explosives? 5 times in say 100h of play? not really worth it.

about the rdx, i would rather have rdx out because of the crouch past clays feature which means if you hear some one draw a knife, '5' 'click' bang kill'

stabilisers junk though, you cannot shoot again if you miss because the stabiliser wears off, you have to wait for it to build up... total piece of crap. its better off learning how to snipe without it because in the long run you wont be relying on it like a crutch to help you get kills.

also im a believer that there is no noticeable difference between stabiliser and non stabiliser if the person is competent at sniping.

I liked that i still had basic instinct of BF2142 in me, i ran into their enemy titan and killed a few campers in the spots i knew they would be, and without thinking crouched past an APM

                        Proud moment

Hehe I still crouch in front of claymores in both CoD4 and BF2. Really annoying since it gets me killed the whole frickin time.

When i played Bf2142 full time... In FoB i shot motion mines to engies face almost every round...

The RDX story u wrote. It's hard to do in FF on server. Or with good knifer, u won't even hear him coming...

The stabilizer gives u just an ½-1 second advanage when it comes to sniper duel... And when you are doing some serious long range sniping... It helps you to accuire targets faster, and kill them before they run behind cover...

I gotta ask. Do u seriously hate that much stabilizer and Zeller, or are u just an hater in general?

He speaks the truth. Stabilizer is great long range where a fraction of an inch off is a miss, and to be honest, long range is where snipers should be in the first place.

As for the stabilizer only working for one shot, if it's so easy to make a shot without it then certainly it'll be nice and easy to make a shot with it cooling down as well. Or hit in the head and not need another shot...

Zeller, though... it's overused but not bad... Park 52 FTW.
