So, I played BF2142 last night...

however good CoD4 may be, the style that the BF games have is not copyable. No game has game close to creating the same feel as BF. BF will always have me coming back for more

i still play bf2 its a total difrend game than cod4 i gust love the open space and all the cars,planes...... Cod4 would have been a 10/10 if they gust had made the maps a bit bigger they are rly to small for xbox and ps3 they great because the max player are 16 or something. But for the pc version its a total difrend storie. I sometimes look at the serverbrowser see servers whit 94 players playing on the smalest map ever in game history (dont know the name but you know witch one i mean i think :).

I played bf2142 few days ago too.

I was on Timeless NS server, and oh boy it was hard to hit anything with the Zeller anymore...

1. the accuracy is a joke with the junk cone of fire uselessness, laziness on the developers side imo, 'i know instead of trying to address the problem lets tape a comically oversized ice cream cone to all guns so they fire randomly!!11****f1!!'

2. the movement is total crap, i miss the ability to jump over walls and climb on top of railing and the like too much. in any bf you have to take a flippin 30m detour to get round a small fence.

3. cant shoot through stuff argh!!! its so annoying to have someone bobbing up and down behind a crate or something but you cant shoot them through it =(

But there is sway with sniper rifles, and there is a way to "hold your breath"...

I started to play BF2 again but it doesn't have the same effect as COD4 has.

I can side sprint in bf2! Damn! And what the hell are you going to do, poke me with that knife? I can't even believe I used the knife in BF2.

I feel like playing some good ol'd 2142 again. I was talking about it to some mates we are all in agreement about it.

Battlefield just has this great "Go anywhere, Do anything" feel to it.

The maps are simply massive and sniping someone halfway across the map gives a real sense of achievment, unlike CoD4's bastardisation of sniping.

Not to mention the vehicles, they are so much fun.

CoD4 has solid infantry combat, no doubt, but with the small maps and nothing but infantry it wears thin after a while.

At least in Battlefield there was always something you had never done before and had infinite more replay value.

EDIT: Oh and one more thing, DEFIBS!!! I miss the ability to revive and heal friendlies.

I have played 2142 once since getting CoD4, and have no intention of double clicking on the 2142 shortcut again. CoD4, just seems like it was built for me, like an evolved CSS (which I used to play 24/7) And the fast paced action always gets the adrenaline pumpin. In 2142, its just seems, and gets old fast, especially since most servers are either CAMP G or have huge lag boxes floating around the map (I am talking about titans) or they are Knife servers. Plus with custom made maps and great new mods, I think the CoD4 revolution is only just beginning! :yay:

Plus with IW we have a developer that actually gives a toss about the game, even better

When I got BF2142, I loved it and played it for more than 1800 hours in just about a year after that I got pissed off more and more with the inactivity of the ladders and the stupid increase of 64/64 Camp G servers, so I went back to play RTS games, didn't want to get CoD4 at first and I was against it all the way really but then I happened to get a copy of it for less than half of its normal price, so I went for it, thinking it's worth a try.

Oh, yeah I went for a random infantry only match in BF a while ago and quit after the first round because after playing CoD4, I felt like I was some kind of spaz who couldn't hit anything.

I played BF2142 quite a while ago.

Needless to say, I sucked bad. Couldn't hit a thing.

If I ever need a polished team game, TF2 is there for me. :)

what i moste like in cod4 in the fast loading i can get in to the server in less then 30 sec on the other hand in battlefield games you have to wait like 2 or 5 min to get in to the server.

Yea i agree, i know the maps are so much smaller but the fast loading is great because it means i feel as though i can get in quick 5 min games before i go out.

I played 2142 last week and didnt realize how hard it was.. playing cod4 since it came out then played bf2142 i got owned lol.. played bf2 the other day and really enjoyed it, I think i`ll play more bf2... been playing around with the custom maps for cod4, so far very dissapointing..
