Call me crazy, but a FPS with bad hitbox detection can be quite a bit more enjoyable than AWFUL games (Like CS:S, Im not talking about CoD4) because than you dont get fags who just camp or keep the gun leveled at head level and walk around corners insta-crouch head-shotting people with their quote "mad skillz" and have a miniature seizure when those nasty "hackers (meaning everyone on the enemy team) gets lucky and gets the headshot first. Although, thats very rare when hitboxs dont fall into my book as a nusience, im saying this for games that have limited and "swimming through a swamp o' ****" movement like counter-strike. A game like BF2 probably wouldn't be as big a problem.

Sod the stererotypes - I'm always jumping in jets... because they're fun to fly. If some jumped up 13 year old wants to stand in the way and force tk - so be it.

I get -4 points and he loses 15 seconds of his life, staring at his screen... "Critically Injured." Whose the real loser?

I am with the OP ...its action I want, and on even playing ground. Me with a shoulder rocket vs a tank with a machine gun and mounted cannon, oh yeah, there's a fair fight. I love it when I win, but in that situation, its usually the tank. I split my time between IO and the helos. I love the helos. No matter which seat, by myself, or with a partner,...I love the helos.

Last night I was in a Karkand with vehicles, and it started as usual, me getting killed by tanks and arty. I gave up with the AT, and spawned in as a medic. I took the gold, playing my IO game, beating the tank-whores and arty-crazed commanders. It was fun! I don't think I could get away with that every time, but it made me remember why I play IO.

Here's a stereotype for ya: the soloer! He doesn't stand for teamwork, he stands for communism, kicking babies and burning jews! He's the most vile, evil creature ever to have come into existence...

A vehicle whore will go into an i/o server and get nailed but an i/o whore will go into a vehicle server and hold his own.

I went into a vehicle server last night and took gold as sniper running around capping flags, it was no different than i/o, but you take away your precious tanks/jets/hele's and you have nothing because you need vehicles to stay alive.

An I/O man is a better all round soldier but thats just my opinion be it right or wrong, feel free to disagree.

You realize, of course, that there are more maps for infantry than just Karkand, right?

Mashtuur, Jalalabad, and Sharqi all are good non-IO infantry maps. None have jets, Sharqi has the choppers but is a tough map to fly with the cranes+fog+tight AA+FAVs (unless US is pinned on one flag), all three have less armor than Karkand, all have close spawns, all have a plethora of vehicles to get to the close spawns even faster, all have lots of corners for rocking tanks with ATs or slipping up with C4.

Try the green eggs and ham, Sam.

Disclaimer - I rarely kick babies, only when they range-whore.

Bah! One person will moan about vehicles (jet whores, tank whores, etc) and another will moan about I/O (point whores).

I wish people would make up their minds...

You should try to be a little bit less negative in your remarks...remember, had not BF2 been developed, and being what it is, you would not have the opportunity to play PR.

Some people like some features, others like other features, and there's something in it for everyone.

Love wake. One of the few maps out there where you can relentlessly snipe those who would normally nadespam you to death from a distance they can't even hit you at :p

I/O makes it more fun. Everyone is actually playing (not idling for some gay jet) and most are stupid enough to gravitate repeatedly towards one spot with little or no cover and be picked off like sheep for the shearing :p

Waah I have to teach you the ways of a long range sniper. It is boring and tedious to master, but when you do, it is (for me) very, very amusing. You can make people break their mouse who previously have made you break yours

You like tanks, you're a tank whore

You like medic, you're a point whore

                              and so on.

It seems that the only way to be "accepted" by these people is to be constantly engaging in VoIP teamwork procedures, constantly capping flags in the "interest of the team", playing an "acceptable" class such as anti-tank, and playing maps like Zatar Wetlands.

Don't understand what I mean? I'll apply this situation to myself as an example. I love Karkand. I also love infantry only. Am I a point-obsessed loser?

Nope. Karkand rocks, because I just don't like wasting my time walking/boating around a huge map, with 95% game time being spent in some form of transport and with 5% being actual action.

I also like Infantry Only. Why? Well, after you have spent 20 minutes sprinting to the next flag, I don't find it fun engaging in combat with me on the floor versus some form of tank/plane/armoured vehicle/helicopter.

                              In short, IO Karkand rocks.
Incase you're new or just have a newfound ability to read, it has ALWAYS been like this...

                                Wrong, wrong, wrong.

IO can be a lot more fun than vehicles sometimes. A game of infantry Karkand, Jihadabad or Mashtuur is good fun and a refreshing break.

So don't give me any of that rubbish about people only play IO for stats. If stats didn't exist i'd still play IO.
