I like(d) Bf2, i just find IO kinda pathetic.
Well, the fact that the hit detection is being really ****ty, isnt a feature. Far from itOriginally posted by dremanuYou should try to be a little bit less negative in your remarks...remember, had not BF2 been developed, and being what it is, you would not have the opportunity to play PR.
Some people like some features, others like other features, and there's something in it for everyone.Comment

Just don't listen to them. Gaming world is full of whiners. You like Karkand IO? That's fine, enjoy the game :)Comment

Just because it has "always" been occuring, isn't an excuse not to bring the issue up, is it?
Exactly.Wrong, wrong, wrong.
IO can be a lot more fun than vehicles sometimes. A game of infantry Karkand, Jihadabad or Mashtuur is good fun and a refreshing break.
So don't give me any of that rubbish about people only play IO for stats. If stats didn't exist i'd still play IO.
Don't listen to them? Unfortunately they make up a huge majority of members who frequent these BF2 boards. I don't want to "not listen to them", which would take too much effort, I want them to shut the hell up.
Edit:
Originally posted by BloodHoundits because everyones a point whore now.Originally posted by THEONEANDONLYI hate that map go gulf of omen or anything with jets heliz and tanks!!all the pussys playing on an infrantry only server....they prob cant even drive a hummer!!!go to a real server :)Originally posted by Doggie52Without the ranking system I bet Karkand would be one of the least popular maps. The battlefield franchise is not made to be infantry only.Originally posted by Doggie52Just couldn't have said it better. IO is and will always be just pretty much legal stadpad. EOD.Everyone has been riding this bandwagon for too long..Originally posted by BabaGurGurI lol'd when he said Karkland :P
Anyways, its pretty obvious, everyone has become a point whore wanting to rank up, i prefer Gulf of Oman, Kubra dam, and only Karkand if it has vehicles and dosnt have 64 peopleComment

ill give this a go.
Battlefield 2 has:
Teamwork: re-ammo, revives.
In depth scoring system
Variety of maps, with map sizes.
Squads, spawn on squad leader
Different spawn points for different teams. COD4 wasnt like this.
Big levels that vary in how to win.
15 second spawn time.
Ticket system, with ticket bleed.
karkand: mist at 100m so CQC.
several hits to body (appeals to some, differs from CS)
A decent community.
Few hackers (argue with me on this, i find less than 1% of players hack)
Balance within weapons, no weapon is really overpowering, maybe g36e but not too bad.
C4 explosive, i dont think thats on any other game?
Different body kits, easily recognise the teams.
Ability to go prone (CS dont have this)
Flag capture
Bigger levels
Im sure theres more its my bedtime.
18 reasons... now your end of the bargain give me 36 reasons why bf2 is not worth playing.Comment

I think your missing the point counter strike ISOriginally posted by Tsovehr
Hehe, this is exactly my point. Let me guess - CounterStrike is full of kiddies or hackers, right? Whilst we're at it, BF2 players are mature and friendly.
Stereotypes suck, get it?
full of kiddies and hackers! Its an accurate sterotype. You have way more hacks for CS then you do for BF2 and most of the Bf2 hackers play IO thats a fact my old clan owned a server and we decided to get another one and make it IO and low and behold we started getting more complaints of hacking and finding more hackers on the server.
Sterotypes are accurate at times, get it?Comment

I lol`d at some of those, especially the proning, C4 and timelimit one. What great, new features those are.ill give this a go.

It`s full of kiddies, but not so much with hackers as everyone makes it out to be. It`s a good game and some are just bloody good at it.I think your missing the point counter strike IS

For me, this is oh so wrong. I don't like flying. I find it extremely boring flying round and round in a jet dropping bombs / firing misiles etc. The helicoptors are ok, but trying to get in one to improve my flying is almost impossible (and i'm not going to resort to the lowest level of tking either).
The vehicles are fine, but weather you have one or not you're pretty much cannon fodder for said jets / helicoptors.
Just before IO was released, I was all but ready to give up the game as I was sick to death of being game raped. Once IO came out I got back my love for the game. I now have a fair chance of winning any 1 on 1 battle. I know that if I take 5-10 mins to cross a map to take a flag I am not going to get bombed / arty'd or annihilated by a vehicle. If I don't win the fight then so be it, but at least I stand a chance. I'm not able to spend 6 hours a night playing (I think that is the amount of time needed in PR to achieve anything, such as taking a flag). I can jump on a server, have a blast for an hour or two then leave without wondering why the hell I bothered. The main thing for me is I have fun and a good laugh with my friends on teamspeak.
I'm not playing the game so that I can run around telling everyone how l33t I am or how I pwn everyone and everything. I'm playing for fun and that is what I get out of IO. I'm certainly not playing to re-inact wars to the nth degree of accuracy. To me, PR is inversly proportional to fun.
The stats are in the game, I check mine from time to time, but if they weren't there I'd play just the same. The game's far from perfect, yes it's annoying as hell to empty a whole clip into someone's back from point blank range, only for them to turn round, sneeze, and kill you; but it has to be the best value for money I have ever had from £30.Comment

First, lets scratch some of those "good thing about Bf2 IO" There we go, now its only 8 reasonsill give this a go.
Battlefield 2 has:
Teamwork: re-ammo, revives.
Sorry mate, but Bf2 lacks teamwork if anything
In depth scoring system
Stats, EA's gift to teamwork
Variety of maps, with map sizes.
Squads, spawn on squad leader
Different spawn points for different teams. COD4 wasnt like this.
Big levels that vary in how to win.
And you dont get that in other games??
15 second spawn time.
Wtf is so great about that...?
Ticket system, with ticket bleed.
Nothing to do with inf combat...
karkand: mist at 100m so CQC.
its actually 150, but yeah OK
several hits to body (appeals to some, differs from CS)
Huh? You can shoot ppl several times in CS...
A decent community.
All does that have anything to do with Bf2 inf combat?
Few hackers (argue with me on this, i find less than 1% of players hack)
Again, irrelevant
Balance within weapons, no weapon is really overpowering, maybe g36e but not too bad.
C4 explosive, i dont think thats on any other game?
Yes it is
Different body kits, easily recognise the teams.
Ability to go prone (CS dont have this)
Flag capture
Bigger levels
Nothing to do with inf combat
Im sure theres more its my bedtime.
18 reasons... now your end of the bargain give me 36 reasons why bf2 is not worth playing.
And these things suck in Bf2:
No teamwork whatsoever
Spammy gameplay
Horrible hitboxes
Weapons do little damage
Ppl can throw nades WAY too fast
Prone diving is effective
Proximity claymores
Weapon deviation is over the top
Weapon balance is bad
You can ressuply/heal/revive ppl way too quickly
Bunnyhopping is effective
You can go from stading to prone or from prone to standing in an instant and without loss of accuracy
Way too much CQC
Fixed machineguns are inneffective
Some classes are made almost useless
Things get spammy on a 64 player server
When you buy a game that focuses on combined arms, you shouldnt be complaining about getting killed by tanks, jets or chopters should you? There are enough "IO" games out there already.
Local server..?
The vehicles are fine, but weather you have one or not you're pretty much cannon fodder for said jets / helicoptors.

Duh, there are IO games out there I agree, but none of them exactly like BF2. People like BF2, people like IO. Simple.Comment

The fault in your logic is that there's some value in being "accepted" by "these people". The bottom line is you paid for the game. Play it however you want to enjoy yourself. If you want to spend all your time in a jet - go for it.Comment

Shask
Oh? Then what is that value?
Precisely. It would be fantastic if the "anti-karkand, anti-IO, pro-teamwork" whiners would just shut up and let everyone play the game how they want to.Comment
