Well, I've been thinking - similar to Sonic - yes, the P90 is a part of the game, same with the M4. And the thing is, they are simply better guns. The P90 has good accuracy, good damage, and good fire rate.

People take advantage of that. But, because people take advantage of guns with better statistics, many deem them as less skilled because they need to use that gun in order to do well.

Meanwhile, the player who uses a gun such as the MP5 or AK47 is perceived as being more skillful, because they need to have better accuracy and control in order to do well.

This may not be the absolute truth, but I think it's the basic logic behind it.

I agree kind of. Wouldn't call them better guns - I would say easier guns to use. Anyone can score with an M4/P90 - a half blind geriatric could take someone down.

I score higher with the AK than the M4 and i've used both extensively. I really like the fact that it's one of the few guns that require a bit of practise or technique & it's very rewarding when you have it down (ie. serious pwnage).



None of the guns are really very difficult to use, nothing in the same league as the Baur (which I never got my head round)

Well, in the scrims I've been playing - I'm not the clan sniper - I've had to use an assault rifle. So, of course, I chose the AK47. I'm pretty good with it in Pubs, but I deem it unusable in scrims/matches.

When the enemy is actually using cover, you have to be able to put a good volume of fire on their position in a short amount of time, and that just isn't possible with the AK47.

Sure, bursts work at close/medium range, but to accurately hit a target at a distance, you need a different gun.

Yesterday i begun using the AK again. With ACOG... and i got plenty of kills and headshots... that friggin thing owns... if well used... i used it for counter-sniping... poor sniper face when i headshotted him... :p
This is my new "gun of the week"... the headshots fall like sausages and it looks nice and powerful... what else?

The AK is mainly hard to use because it's so inaccurate. You can have better aim than the best hack out there and still miss since the bullets stray so much.

Horribly powerful when it hits, though.

I like it with double tap to get quick bursts in like Arielz said it lacks.

It's deadly accurate There's no bullet deviation for any of the assault rifles, at least that i've noticed.

And the recoil is just a matter of getting used to.

The only time I really feel at a disadvantage is between med/far distance where the m4 user can spam fire at me & i need 3 one shot bursts:cry:

But i'd take stopping power over double tap with the ak anyday. It's hard enough to hit the more distant guys as it is

I use the Baur in 2142, I know recoil. :laugh:

A reflex sight dead on with that thing won't hit the target half the time, so it's not an ACOG sway either. Maybe our ideas of range are different, when I say "innacurate" I mean it wont reliably hit across Countdown. Or from the grassing hill to the M249 on Pipeline. Those ranges, it sucks. Those ranges, I love.

It does look like a terrible TF2 ripoff, and I bet the ads will be mind boggling.. considering how much they are an intrusion in the paid EA "products".

I completely disagree with that. I have the P90 and I get more kills with the Skorpion. I am 100% AK and I do everything with it. I snipe, countersnipe, assault, CQC....everything. The only thing that changes is scope, addons and perks (kinda).

I honestly cannot kill ANYTHING with the P90 or the m4 but this morning in my first game I went 13-0 with the AK and noobtube. Say what you want about the tube but I got 2 tube kills and 11 kills with bullets. Honestly if you're having range probs with the AK then you don't understand bursts. Fire 2 or MAYBE 3 round bursts and you will rack up the kills I guarantee it (if you have aim).

I think the prob is COD4 rewards recognizing HUD responses more than skill. I.E. grenade indicators, hit indicators, etc. It's better to spray with the SAW on a lot of maps till you get a hit indicator than it is to try and aim. I honestly wish the maps were about 50% bigger. Then people really could sneak around and snipers could setup flank vantage points and aim would become much more important imho.
