I have 8 veteran badges that could all be expert if I could only get 40 kills IAR in Vanilla and 44 kills IAR in SF, but I am finding it almost impossible to get over 30 as a ground pounder!!!

How are you guys getting the high numbers?

I notice most helo gunners and planes get up there on kills....sometimes armor can get close, but for a foot soldier I am about to give up!! I have even tried playing on 64 servers with few players and I get close (mid thirties) but it still does not get me to the over 40 mark.

And I absolutely refuse to hack or cheat!!!

Any advise?

Don't take others advice and whore the J10 or artillery the carrier etc. It's too easy to get that way and then you'll find yourself without any decent challenges left. Believe me it'll mean a lot more if done properly.

It can be done with every class, only be ready for some BIG surprises. I was going for SF Expert engy, I hit 44 kills and no badge, then 45, 46, 47 and still no badge, then 48, 49, still no badge, then finally at 50 I got the badge. That was playing on foot only, Warlord, 64 player, with vehicles (finished with 58 kills). I used landmines, MK3A1 shotgun, and pistol.

Another one, expert sniper SF is supposed to be 38 kills, but I didn't get mine till 42. Got that on Mass Destruction IO 64 player, used SVD, pistol and claymores.

The best chance is 64 player IO servers when you are there right from the start of the round, when the server starts. Go hard and don't worry about dying, just make sure you get at least one kill for every death.

Doesn't matter if there are 32 people or 64.. just rape everything. Learn to use M16/AK.

Use your head and stay alive, work as a team.

Also, play on low ping servers.

Yes, but it looks like you have not been reading through the whole thread. The point is doing it on foot. The true warrior way.

Tank whore, plane whore, chopper whore, baserape, infantry fighting.. so many ways :) Btw, i have all expert combat badges, everything got some way of that list

if you HAVE to do it on foot, Warlord IO in the palace, got my assault, medic and spec-ops expert badges there, well it started at the Plaza and went real quick to the Palace
definetly do it on SF though that way you only have to get 4 more kills and you get both badges, if you do it in vanilla then you have to do it AGAIN on SF to get them

The only way I'll ever be able to do it is whoring AT/Support on Iron Gator :P

That and of course whoring vehicles.
