Ive seen people with all kinds of wounds. Gunshot, cuts, suicides (all kinds), burns, dismemberment, internal bleeding, external bleeding, open skulls, brains, eye losses, jaw losses (a guy tried to shoot himself in the face using duck shot rounds, lost his lower jaw, upper jaw and eyes), et cetera. Ive seen people die, Ive held dieing people and Ive revived people.

Games dont even come close, and to a reasonable and "sane" mind, they offer absolutely nothing except for negative or positive stimulation, which may I add, is nothing compared to real life sports/events stimulation.

When people say that "nurture" plays the biggest role, they should check what Bundy said about his childhood and parents. Nurture will only bring out the tendencies. And human body is still a mistery.

exactly, people forget we have all seen things we would rather forget.

Adding to much gore to a game brings up to many emotional issues in some people.

Watching peoples' limbs fly off is actually quite fun to me, but I understand why people might find it weird - I myself have a pretty clear distinction of reality and games and I don't need a game to censor anything in order to keep it bearable, while I would never like to see or god forbid blow a guys head/limb off in real life, I quite enjoy doing/seeing it in games, and there's nothing weird about it, some people have different tolerances and approaches to the fun factor, I myself find it rude to put people in the "weird" and "normal" category based on that.
It's not really a matter of thinking it's real, or having your mind tilted toward murder, in my mind. It's about why the hell should people enjoy watching others get flayed? If the game was reskinned so we were all kids playing beanbag tag it'd play just the same, only it'd be nice and friendly. It adds nothing to the game to increase gore. One may say "for realism". Don't we play realism games for the tactical challenge, the thinking and teamwork and, in the end, skill? If you play realistic games because you want to see true to life blood and gore, rather than the tactical/skill challenge, then you truly are sick in the head, saying you want it for realism is like saying you enjoy watching operations just to see people get cut up. If you want to be the doctor, you're the player who wants the challenge of realism and success, the blood comes as an unavoidable drawback. In video games we don't need to have blood, it can all be clean and still keep the gameplay, so why don't we?

You just won't stop calling the majority of gamers sick will you?

While we're at it, let's remove the pretty graphics too. I mean, specular mapping? Who needs it? High res textures, polygons? Just too many, let's remove all that, because the game would again play just the same without it.

It adds nothing to the game to increase gore.
              It adds fun.

I play games because I want to have fun, since you don't have a problem saying most of the people who voted Yes are sick in the head (even though I told you it's offensive once), I'm sure you don't mind being labeled as mentally latent, because you certainly fill out the prerequisites.

saying you want it for realism is like saying you enjoy watching operations just to see people get cut up. If you want to be the doctor, you're the player who wants the challenge of realism and success, the blood comes as an unavoidable drawback.
Another senseless argument. Even if people do want it for realsim, why go watch people get cut up by a doctor? Unless the doctor is dressed a military uniform in the middle of a desert/forest and he's cutting people from range with a gun.

In video games we don't need to have blood, it can all be clean and still keep the gameplay, so why don't we?
Who is we? Poll shows that the majority does need blood. For those who don't like it almost every game has a gore on/off option. For the majority, the blood is part of the gameplay, but you can keep living in denial and refusing to believe it for all I care.

Infiltrator, if you want blood, gore and pieces of body flying round the map, i think your in the wrong game. You'd probably be better off in some sick shooter.

Whilst i agree a little more blood wouldn't go amiss, it's very easy to step over the line and turn what is a game based on pseudo-realism into simply another mindless run and gun shooter.

Sure, CoD4 is meant to be fun, but it's also meant to be challenging. By adding over the top gore effects, it's almost reducing the game to a Grand Theft Auto style cartoon shooter where people run around without an arm and blood spurting out.

There is a limit to what is seen as realistic, and what is cartoon (even if the cartoon effects simulate what might happen in real life). Counter Strike Source captured this balance very well with awesome blood effects. It both looked good, and looked realistic.

Basically, what i'm trying to say is that the more blood and gore you add, the more "cartoony" the game gets. It's not proven, but i bet there is a clear correlation between the amount of blood and guts, and the amount 14 year old kids tearing around ruining the game with their "noobish" antics.

Call of Duty 4 is perfect the way it is. There is room for expansion, but not change.

i like gibs, especially how it was implemented in RtCW. people had to shoot a guy after he went down to gib him so that the medics couldn't revive him. the difference between death and unrevivable death made it more interesting, and that's why the panzerfaust was so deadly because it can gib multiple players at once, as well as nades.

i guess that doesn't matter for COD since theres no revives, but gibs would be hella cool. airstrikes, nades, RPGs, and nade launchers all should gib if it's a relatively direct hit. plus it would leave less corpse around meaning less clutter.

Sick shooter? 90% of the shooters have more blood then CoD4, so I take it each and every one of them is sick? Also, seems to me the majority feels this game lacks blood.

I keep repeating the same thing over and over but it appears to be falling on deaf ears. I never asked for cartoony blood.

Again - I never asked for cartoony blood.

The game at the current state just lacks blood, it's like I'm shooting stuffed mannequins (<= cartoony). In the end you said it yourself - more blood wouldn't go amiss, which means you agree because that's what I want to.

It's not mandatory, I'll live without it, it's just what I think would make the game more enjoyable to play, and I'm just expressing my opinion about it here, but seems to me the minority here has an issue with a bunch of red sprites in a game.

There IS blood, it splatters on walls, etc.

What do you want, gushing blood - like the GTA series? No thanks.

Just think of it as a good thing.

When you kill an enemy, they don't leave a trace of blood for your enemy to find you. :)

I guess playing UT,Ofp and Arma makes me sick.
But the poll has spoken, add gore. First step towards good gore is removing those sh!tty looking death animations and just let the body go rag-doll right from the start. Goddamn those animations are ugly as hell.

the poll is practically 50-50, i personally dont think thats enough to change any devs mind.
