LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL if you were joking there :p

Anyway, when you think about it...why would we want to see our fellow humans being torn to shreads? I mean, it's good as it is, and it's kinda special because you only get blood on a headshot, so it kinda makes you wana aim better?

    No?...well I donno...

I would like the game set to a realistic setting of gore. Believe me, I have seen pictures and videos of terrorists/Shiites/whoever that were shot with a .50 cal, (thanks Dad), and is not pretty at all. If anything, IW is taming it down beyond 'normal' or 'realistic'.

(If you want to see, Google the phrase 'terrorists .50 cal' and scroll down the images...)

My younger sisters play COD4, and come on these forums, I don't want them to see those things:|:...

Just saying you might want to watch what you post.

i personally find people asking for more gore really disturbing. I realize its only a game and that its all about having fun. But when you really think about what your asking, its just creepy, your asking to see more blood and when you shoot people to see their limbs fly off and watch them have a slow painful death.

          I think thats weird.

I agree. I have played BF with no blood at all, and TF2 which delights in telling me where me spleen ended up. It had no impact on game play so I didn't care, and the same goes for COD4.

SOF3 seems to be overdoing it. The models are too realistic to pass it off as humour like in TF2, so its not a game kids (including teenagers) should be playing.

And the grown-ups are hopefully past that stage where the amount of blood is what makes a game interesting.

I'm not saying that YOUR kids are like that. I'm just saying that I believe that people are born rather then made into anything, and there is very little you can do about it, a game with violence more or less violence certainly won't impact their future.

Let me be perfectly clear - I don't want this to be anywhere near the SoF levels, but when I blast a guy with an RPG and see him bump 2 meters from it unscratched, well it leaves kind of a "sigh" feeling. Also, there are no body decals that register hits which is also a weird thing.

Watching peoples' limbs fly off is actually quite fun to me, but I understand why people might find it weird - I myself have a pretty clear distinction of reality and games and I don't need a game to censor anything in order to keep it bearable, while I would never like to see or god forbid blow a guys head/limb off in real life, I quite enjoy doing/seeing it in games, and there's nothing weird about it, some people have different tolerances and approaches to the fun factor, I myself find it rude to put people in the "weird" and "normal" category based on that.

The thing that also worries me to more extent is the fact, why do people always thinks its the KIDS that will be worst effected by such games.

There is nothing stopping a mature adult getting the same influence from the gore in the game as a 16 year old.

If an adult is getting "influenced" by a game then he's anything BUT mature..

psychopaths are some of the most intelligent people in the world, there is nothing immature about them.

People need to take issues such as this more seriously.

Psychopaths? Who said anything about them? They will never be triggered by a game. It's a completely different type of personality.

There is no issue, people are violent by nature, no game will ever infuse a sane person with a killer instinct.

I cant find the link, but 3 years ago a 23 year old man, had a good job, was married and had a baby on the way, killed 3 co-workers, his wife an unborn child, when questioned about why he did so, he said his life had come to an uncontrollable peak and took his actions out on those around him, he claimed he was living out his GTA lifestyle.

Sorry but if thats not a psychopath then what is. GTA doesnt even have much gore.

Presicely why I didnt post the link.

                          *****

For starters, I do not beleive psychopaths are playing CoD4, or any video game for that matter. They're pyschpaths, they are locked up in some asylum chewing on their own knees.

Clearly, Infiltrator belives in nature over nurture. I, for one, disagree. People can be bred into murderers, rapists, etc. by a broken household, poverty, the media, even graphic films/video games. I dont want CoD4 to be the reason for another Jeffrey Dahmer

                            The_Eliminator:

This isn't a debate about psychological profiles but since I'm into the subject I'll humor you. Looking at your description, the person had an Anger Management problem - they var a lot based on how people express it but this guy apparently kept absorbing and inhibiting everything, from the office, to his wife, he was calm and didn't stand up to what was happening around him.

And one day it just surfaced, GTA just wasn't enough of a ventilation to prevent the explosion. He may have lived his GTA style but the game didn't make him kill everyone, if anything, the game delayed the homicidal act. He said he was living out GTA as it was the only place where he, prior to the incident could simply let it all out, and as such it was ironicaly the only peaceful and relaxing place at the end of his day.

In the end, he was no where near what falls under the lengthy definition of a Psychopath.

Since that is cleared up, I really have no further intention of debating psychology here because frankly:

                            1. There seems to be a lack of people informed in psychology here (to be expected).
                            2. This is about why should and why should not IW add gore to CoD4

                            The Todd:

Yes, most psychologists have took either one of the two sides, having read some of the work and having some real life experience, I strongly favor nature, but I understand why people believe otherwise even though I don't agree with them.

                            On topic -

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I blast a guy with an RPG, he should fly off in a million pieces, and for me that's more realistic and more fun, I find that CoD series always aspired for both aspects.

So the verdict is gore= good.
I would lmao every single time I see a head go boom.

I saw my friend's head go "boom" ... It's something that I'll never forget.

I simply have to think that you aren't aware of what you are talking about or that you're numb. Perhaps I'm just scarred by my experiences or I'm overly sensitive. Perhaps it is me who is in error.

All I know is once you've been confronted with the reality of death and loss, your opinions can change quite drastically. I hope it doesn't take a personal tragedy. I really do.
